I was at the Marvel panel and in between all the talk Avi Arad stated Hulk would begin filming next April. That's April 07 so it's a 2009 release for sure! Nobody even seemed to pick that up. I did. :) Leterrier stole the show. He was funny as hell. Saying Lou Ferrigno would be kissing a french man to get into this film. He said it as a joke. Very flamboyant guy. Funny. Edgar Wright was really cool but clearly he's got a ways to go for Ant-Man.

Here's a pic of Louis Letterier at the panel. Sorry if it's fuzzy.

But still no mention of the cast yet?

And do they even have a script? Last i heard, it was still being worked on.

I'm pretty sure Zak Penn has turned in his script, but I think Louis Leterrier and Avi Arad are still looking it over and carving it up amongst themselves.

He said they're still working on the script (or he hinted at that), Abomination was in the film, he jokingly said Ferrigno told him he wanted to do the voice for the Hulk if he talks (I don't think he was joking though), and the panel collectively said it was gonna be a action packed film with no need to go into the origin...who doesn't know it he said. Avi also clearly stated David Duchovy and Brendan Fraser are NOT being talked to. He said nothing of Bana. They kept referring to it as a sequel and he confirmed General Ross and Banner (LOL) will be back for sure.

i would LOVE to hear Lou be the voice of the Hulk! He did a GREAT job on the toon, imo.

That was one of my peeves with the first film; Hulk really didnt talk.

Bad enough they made him a 15 foot tall giant, but a 15 foot tall giant mute on top of that made a character that was very hard for the audience to relate to, imo.

did anyone reacord the full interview?

I would say this points to a 2008 release

X3-starts filming August 2005-Opens May 2006

F4/2-starts filming August 2006-Opens June 2007

both those films were rushed as hell :(

well, they have 9 or 10 months to get a good script, then i hope they get a year to make this film, that would mean a summer 09 release date and i'm fine with that.

As am i Sava and i hope that's how it plays out but i could see them switching Wolverine to 2009 and putting TIH in 2008 in it's place

yeah :(

Maybe it's a Holiday film...???

April 2007...Over 2 years to develop the film...dunno. Maybe they'll start some desgin work and test footage, but that seems to early for a summer 2009 release.

thanks for postin this AD.

April '07.... boy they better get cracking on the casting and pre-prod stuff if they hope to start in time.

No it's a 2009 release. Marvel's deal with Merril requires a Summer event film. It' can't open in October or November. Nobody said April 1st either but that's still only 8 mos from the day they start filming till it's on the screen. Sure it could be done but the contract prohibits it.

That's plenty of time. That's 9 mos no tweak the script & F/X, etc...Setting a date like this also tells me they're gonna sign Bana again. If Bana's contract did in fact expire when Universal gave up the rights then Marvel would be foolish to say yeah we're gonna get Bana back that's our priority. Doing so would put them in a horrible negotiation position. By just saying we're not ruling him out will make Bana and his agent feel that Marvel has options and not to be too greedy. It's not an award winning type of role but its the kind of event film that puts Bana's name out there in big print and get's lots of attention. It's also not going to have the same feel to the film so it will make Bana more interested (as he's suddenly shown) to do a different take on the tone. They'll obviously hire Sam Elliot again, Connely is not needed since he's gonna be on the run unless she just has a cameo or very small roll, and then there's probably only a couple of other co-starring roles to fill like Jack McGhee (if they go that route or someone similar to him), and some new love interest along the way. I'm so happy they're going for the "fugitive" type story while making it a hero film. It's gonna be great.

If this is not a continuation of the first Hulk, and doesn't have Eric Bana, then what I smell is either DTV, or a few years of pre-production hell.

AD, is there a place i can hear the whole interview?

So you reckon they are this far advanced but will hold off 2 years after shooting starts ?

why not take the two years to develop the CGI?...

...actually, thats a dumb idea, it would end up costing alot of money. I'm guessing, they want to like rule summer 08 or something, with IM and TIH, they have a chance...yeah right

I'd be all for devloping it over the 2 years but except for Spiderman it isnt how Marvel do things and even Spidey doesn't start shooting 2 years before the release

yeah, looks like summer 08 is when they want to release, unless they have a T2 level script, i hope they dont do some dumbass thing like go up against BB2 or Indy

Hmm. 2009 is when SR's sequel is supposed to happen. This should be interesting...
