'Incredible Hulk' unlikely to get sequel !

I'm not sure, but I think it can be done. The Hulk is going to naturally want to fight the Avengers, so that's going to happen no matter what. More than likely, he'll seem like a villain, but become more of a team player as the movie progresses.

Yeah but if he's the bad guy, keep him bad for the entire movie--otherwise, if he goes goody good at some point of the movie, they're gonna need a real villain for it.. They can always bring back a villain from the previous movies, though.. so, yeah, I'm liking all the ideas :oldrazz:

Well, for the Avengers movie, it would kind of be stupid to have Hulk be the villain, and switch up close to the end of the movie. If they're going to have him be a villain then hero, then leave enough time for the real threat of the movie to shine through. If he'll stay a villain all the way through, they definitely need to find something believable as to why he turns good.

I feel pretty secure that we aren't getting a sequel guys. The best we can hope for is Norton coming back for Avengers, because I'd hate for them to recast this role. Although that seems like a stretch considering how involved Norton likes to be. If he can't have major input, I don't see him being interested.

The good news is, if they make Hulk one of the prime conflicts in the Avengers movie, he'll be well treated. Look at the animated Ultimate avengers. Who were the best characters in that movie? Cap and Hulk.

With the DVD's being sold so quickly, I wouldn't be so quick to say there won't be a sequel at all. Hell, Feige already said that he was impressed with the numbers TIH got, and Marvel thinks the movie performed well, so I think a sequel will be coming.

You are indeed an optimist.
Well, I hope there is one too, but Marvel has announced it's slate through 2011 and it's full. I guess there is a possibility after that...but don't set yourself up for heartbreak.

Lol, I definitely won't, but I like to look at all of the possibilities. There could be a possibility of a Hulk sequel before 2011, or it could be after. Either way, I think they're trying to at least set up all the heroes first, and have the sequels come later on.

Feige said in an interview that it is possible that Marvel make a Dr Strange film after The Avengers. He said that in the next year, year and a half Marvel will be getting their 2012/2013 slate of films ready. So say two films a year, it could be possible that we get TIH2 in 2012 starting from the events after The Avengers film.

Got my copy of the Incredible Hulk. Love the movie. The Hulk will always be on the table for a sequel because of his name recognition and the merchandising that follows. If the Hulk were that bad Marvel wouldn't have a animated feature coming out like the Hulk vs Thor and Wolverine coming soon.

I would love to see Marvel get the property rites back for all their characters. Then we could see a Hulk Vs Wolverine in live action. Now that would be cool.

Like Sarg said, we'll probably know something about their intentions for the franchise in the next little while. I hate being in limbo...

As do I, but I'm sure they're waiting for DVD sales to come in for at least a good month or so. I have a good feeling that by late November or early December we'll have some new news.

Well I think Marvel should get the X-Men rights back! make their own X-Men film...but hey... i like the x-men films...even though X3 could have been better... *sighs*

You know what? It's totally cool if Hulk doesn't get a sequel. Hell, We got TWO movies based on him! When I was a kid, I would have been a dream of mine to see a live action hulk, now we have it, I think that's just too awesome for words. Granted I didn't like either of them as much as I could have but, They're HULK MOVIES! Lets just wait...Ten, fifteen, twenty years down the road, maybe they'll do it again, and maybe they'll make the perfect Hulk movie. But you know what happens when you just crank out a property for properties sake? BATMAN AND ROBIN that's what. No one expected ten years later for Batman Begins to come out and blow everyone away. When the time is right, It'll happen. The fact that they've made two already should be indication enough that the demand is there, it just has to be done right, for the right reasons, not just to make money off a franchise in whatever contrived manner they feel will make the most money. So lets just let it be for a bit. Pop in your HULK and Incredible Hulk and just enjoy what we've got eh.

Hulk versus Wolverine would indeed be sick, I'd love for it to happen sometime soon. Edward Norton + Hugh Jackman = Badass movie

'Incredible Hulk' Producer Wants To Make A Sequel, Which Could Include Edward Norton
'You never give up on something that is worth doing,' Gale Anne Hurd says of future 'Hulk' movies.

Compare 2003's "Hulk" with the new-to-DVD "The Incredible Hulk," and you'll find one common creative element: Gale Anne Hurd.

Hurd, the super-producer behind the "Terminator" and "Punisher" franchises, fell in love with the big green guy as a child, purchased the rights to him in the early '90s while Marvel was in disarray and continues to cherish him as the most powerful of all superhero stories. And now that the character is relaunched, Hurd has big plans for the years ahead.

"When girls are growing up, they're the ones who are picked on," she said. "I had an older brother, and there's no way that you could ever really fight back. So, to me, the Hulk was wish fulfillment. [My family] had a little cabin, and in the summers we'd go up there. It didn't have running water and it didn't have electricity, but the big thing there was a market we would go to before we went up to our cabin, and they sold 'Spider-Man,' 'Incredible Hulk' and 'Fantastic Four' [comics].

"I always bought them out," the now-53-year-old Hollywood power player laughed. "That was my treat for the summer."

This past June, Hurd returned the favor by giving audiences a summer treat with "The Incredible Hulk," a film that established Edward Norton as the new Dr. Bruce Banner. And although Marvel Studio's president of production recently told us that Hulk's future is somewhat uncertain, Hurd revealed that she has every intention of creating an "Incredible Hulk 2" and that Norton is signed on to once again get angry.

"It's all going to depend on the screenplay and where his character goes in any sequel, because he does have a multiple-picture deal," she said of Norton, who told us recently that he's waiting to hear from Marvel regarding Hulk's future. "[Norton's situation] is the same with every franchise like this, when you have one of the top actors of his generation."

Those who've seen "The Incredible Hulk" know that a not-too-subtle sequel hint was dropped when Tim Blake Nelson's Samuel Sterns had a sample of Banner's blood drip into an open wound on his head, causing him to mutate. Hurd said that a proper "Hulk 2" would pick up on this event.

"The Leader," she said when asked what Nelson was transforming into when last we saw him. "It would be a blast [to put the Leader in the sequel], and Tim Blake Nelson is tremendous and a very talented filmmaker in his own right."

But before any Hulk/Leader throw-down can take place, she said, Hulk will likely be seen alongside Iron Man, Captain America and the other heroes being recruited by Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. "Next, he's likely to appear in an 'Avengers' movie, but that's completely up to Marvel," she explained. "It's wonderful that Marvel now controls so many of their own characters, and they can create a Marvel universe in film and populate it with so many of their characters who naturally exist together. I think an 'Avengers' film is a very exciting prospect."

Asked about her own involvement in the summer 2011 film, she revealed that just because Hulk will be involved with "Avengers" doesn't mean she will. "That I couldn't tell you," Hurd said. "There haven't been any discussions about that."

So instead, she's thinking about a "Hulk 2" these days. "When I think of all the many, many, many villains in the Hulk universe, we've now done the Abomination, so wouldn't it be great to tackle the Leader?" she beamed. "It's a completely different type of cerebral villain, which would give the movie a terrific new take on the character."

And even if "Hulk 2" doesn't come along until 2012 or beyond, the wait wouldn't be a concern for Hurd, who once took 12 years between the second and third "Terminator" films. "You know what? You never give up on something that is worth doing," she promised. "General audiences responded really well [to 'The Incredible Hulk'], and so we look forward to having the opportunity to do it again."

But at the end of all things, she doesn't have much say...Marvel does.

As she herself states in the interview...MARVEL STUDIOS own the rights to the character.

And unfortunately, it's not in their current plans. Feige said so himself, remember?

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel. I liked Norton in the role. I felt that the movie improved significantly with him attached to the film, in both the writing and acting capacity. I think if only Norton was involved, that I would be interested in a sequel. I don't think Louis Lettetier contributed that much, to be honest with you. I wouldn't mind another director taking a stab.

Maybe if Norton's career goes downhill.. oh now, why would anyone wish for that..?

I surely wouldn't, and I'm not sue why anyone would, unless they had a personal vendetta against Norton or something.

after the avengers? getting norton back?

you will get him in the avengers and then maybe a reboot.

So, basically, dark_b is saying that they'll get Norton back for "The Avengers" which is a tie in to all the other hero movies to come...and then instead of making a sequel using Norton, they'll reboot? That is the smartest thing I've read all day!
