You guys are all talking about Smith, but you're forgetting the most important character missing from this...

In one review it says one scene is a girl (from the bus) runs to get her dog and Goldblum notes "she went back for the dog?" Lol. Unsure about exact wording, but excellent throw back imo.

Yep, I'm gonna love it.

Gamespot... I'm guessing they'd give it a 6-7? There's no number attached, bounces - basically fun but out-shadowed by the first.

Flickering Myth.... unsure if I'm reading it right, it's either 2/4 or 2 as a film and 4 as a movie/escapism? "ID:R is ridiculous. Enjoyable, infectiously optimistic ridiculous."

Stuff... 2 1/2 out of 4

Den of Geek... 4 out of 5

GQ Magazine... no out ofs, BUT "wild, entertaining and utter nonsense."

I'm confused, what happened to no critic screenings and no reviews? Unless 6 (so far) have broken said contract of not posting reviews (4 of them are .coms - that's in-states (I think)). If FOX went "screw the film critic snobs, give it to the 'nerd' critic sites to spread that word first, phenomenal play because these are the sites I cared about (IGN, Den of Geek, Comic Book Resources, and ComingSoon).

"In the words of my generation, up yours. Hello boys, I'm baaaaaccck!"

I'm guessing the embargo is lifted on Tuesday...it's Tuesday already in some places.

Reactions seem to be getting out. Independence Day is without a doubt the worst film I've seen this year, it's spectacle is only a shadow in what is the most muddled, horribly acted, nonsensical film I've seen in quite a while. The writing is bad. I mean bad.

Can you give an example of what you would consider bad writing? Is it Uwe Boll bad or just typical Roland Emmerich bad? And can you name a film that you think is equally as awful as ID:R?

I mean reading the reviews...it just sounds what I expected from this. I'm still in.

But it is weird I kept hearing it wasn't being screened until Friday.

Seems it's getting mixed reviews so far, which isn't a surprise. Emmerichs movies tend to.

Empire gave it a 4/5.

"As spectacular as you'd hope. You'll enjoy yourself enough that you won't even miss Will Smith."

That review has me really excited.

I adored the first movie. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this one to.

I trust certain outlets more than others when it comes to reviews.

Sooo maybe its not the train wreak i thought it might be

RT is live.

55% so far out of 11 reviews.

I anticipate something in the high 50s/low 60s.

That sounds right and that's actually phenomenal: to add on top of this - the first one got 61-67%, I also believe that would make it Emmerich's third best reviewed film after Independence Day and The Patriot. That also puts it in the same range as 'The Lost World' rather than 'Jurassic Park III.'

Hollywood Reporter is also positive and that hasn't posted yet.

Who reported there was an embargo? Faraci? Another credibility strike, I guess.

I don't care about reviews good or bad with this. I wanna see some explosions and alien ass getting kicked.

I'm torn if I do actually want to see this. I kind of just want a pure fun movie and I'm a sucker for Jeff Goldblum.

This movie still looks like hot garbage to me and trying to drum up the same beats as the first film - which is the new trend in Hollywood when they do sequels to movies that are decades old.

This is the movie equivalent of going out to a strip club and getting boobs in your face, doing some shots when you know damn well your body can't handle it anymore, etc. You're not doing it for intellectual stimulation. I'm going to see this for the reason I play Doom.
