Indiana Jones Reboot

So because they aren't rebooting Indy now means that they will never reboot it? I have a bridge I'd like to sell the people who think a reboot is never happening.

Cooper would actually do a good job as Indy. And there is really no reason to reboot. Just keep the stories going. Preferrably in the 40's era. Maybe even reference the events of the first movie in order to show people it's not a reboot.

Changing actors like they do with Bond is totally fine with me.

The only way to really do it is to kind of do a hybrid of their own interpretation along with some classic quirks of the original, somewhat how Pine did Kirk. He brought his own sensibilities but you catch glimpses of Shatner in a few tics.

I guess the test will be whether the character is greater than the actor who plays him. I think what the success of Pine, Craig, Bale, Cavill, Garfield, Downey JR for Sherlock Holmes etc, has shown is that the characters are so great that they go beyond which every actor plays them.

As far as I'm concerned there is no Terminator without Swartzenegger. I know there may be fans who disagree, but sorry, John Connor isn't what made that series iconic.

The question is , does Indy succeed without Harrison Ford ala Bond, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, and Sherlock Holmes, or is it really actor dependent ala Terminator, Die Hard, or Rocky .

Bradley Cooper annoys me deeply lately, so i really hope if the word reebot comes up, he's not Indy. I'll look away and shall be happy with just the Harrison movies, ignoring the future lol. I feel the same way about Pine.

Casting Indy for a reboot would probably be one of the most difficult recasts ever. I wish them the best with that, honestly. Pleasing everyone wont happen.

Why is Cooper annoying you?

I think he finally has hit his stride. For the longest time, I disliked Cooper until recently.

As Indy though, he may have the look but not the voice.

No reboot. It's not needed.I'm sure they intend to recast eventually, but it shouldn't be a reboot and it shouldn't be until long after Ford retires the role and it darn sure shouldn't be with Cooper.

It's not a real reboot per say; more like Casino Royale where they still have the theme and troupes of Bond but starting anew.

And Indy is so episodic that it doesn't matter. It'll be like the next Mad Max: Another adventure.

I dont know! I loved him in Alias and his earlier movies, but for some reason lately, he just rubs me the wrong way, and i want to punch him :hehe:. I really wish i knew precisely why . We're in opposite directions it seems when it comes to him lol

Due to the ridiculous rumors that keep popping up, like agents pipe dreams, I will stop commenting on our projects until I have real news.

No matter how much Skyfall tried to return bond films to feeling of past Casino Royale was reboot.Any loose contunity that exsisted before was thrown out the window with casino Royale.

A modern day Indiana Jones film would be stupid idea. Without ford eather do it
In 1920's or early 1930's or set it after Last crusade.

I think that Cooper or any actor like him would be 100% wrong for Indy but I don't understand being more annoyed with Cooper now. He finally proved that he was worth the hype, that he knows how to actually act after stuff like The Hangover films (which I don't like) and that dreadful A-Team. Personally I hope he tries not to franchise ****e like Ryan-box office poison-Reynolds is obsessed with doing. He should naturally let a good franchise come his way not an Indy reboot (which he is wrong for anyway) or some half-baked Superhero movie.

It's not going to be modern day, though. I'll be in the early 20th century still, if the reboot does get made. I bet ya a penny.

Basically we don't like actors that become media darlings, that's all. We like actors that tend hate the whole Hollywood scene, like us.

:o

Sean Patrick Flanery or bust. :o

Powder is hilariously awful in every way.

There are two marketing campaigns from the early 90's that I can remember pretty well. Demolition Man (TacoBell) and ****ing Powder. Powder became a creepier film to me when I found out the director was a child fiddler.

Flanery played Powder? News to me... I only saw that in passing when I was a kid. It creeped me out, so I haven't really sought it out since. Plus I was pale enough that I didn't really want to invite the comparison. :o

:funny:

My baby sister (who is 27 so not an actual baby people) does a killer Jeff Goldblum in Powder impression.

That I did not realize. I recognized his name but it took reading up his bio to see why. Creepy indeed.

I'm with you, big time.

What makes you want to punch some actors and not others?
