Best graphic novel ever, whoever hasn't read it, go buy it, it's amazing. Hopefully the movie will be great as well.

What's it about?

Okay, first off, I recommend you go and buy it IMMEDIATELY. It's, personally, my FAVORITE Graphic Novel of ALL TIME.

Here you go:SPOILERS AHOY!!!

Basically, we start off with Wesley, our protagonist, talking about his crappy life. Picture the narrator from Fight Club, but only about 100 times more pathetic. He was abandoned by his dad, and his mother raised him to be a total wuss.

Well, it turns out that his dad was THE Supervillian assassin, and he was recently killed. It turns out that the Supervillians all teamed up and took down ALL of the Earth's sueprheroes in a bloody battle in the 80's. The World was then made to forget they ever existed...along with the villians, who, through uneasy alliances, run everything through a "fraternity".

Wesley inherits his dad's powers and wealth, so logn as he undergoes the training. He takes on his father's guise of "The Killer", just in time to deal with a revolt in the throws of the supervillians. He ends up taking down the rogues with the aide of his father's ex-scrogg-buddy (who he is nailing, now), The Fox. Then Wesley's dad reveals that he faked his own death just to arrange this meeting with his son.

Well, his dad tells him of their true history, and how he watched his son from a distance all his life...and felt guilty about having to abandon him. He has now given Wesley everything he wanted...and he asks one thing in return: For Wesley to kill him. He knows his age will catch up with him, and someone will eventually take him out, and he wants the better man, his son, to do it. They share a tear-ridden exchange, and he poops on ein his dad's head.

Well, the end shows Wesley with his sex-face on, telling you how the supervillians have done the world in the rectum, and how, by buying the very book you're reading, you've helped fund them so they can continue doing so.

The end.

The movie is about fates and what-not, which totally does the comic ZERO justice. I don't know how it wil ever be as good as the graphic novel, especially with the total disregard for the source material it is showing...:csad:

Exactly shinlyle!

I realized that if they took away the superhero stuff, then the movie is just a john woo knock off. there's no point to his being able to shoot wings off a fly, since everyone will be able to do it anyways

I agree with shin en, without the superheroes the movie will seem like just another hollywood idea.

But....Millar seemed to have approved of this, of the movie. So I guess most of the villains from the comic have been written out or something, but Fox is Angelina Jolie....This is f***ed.

See...that's what I'm saying. What's the point n Wesley's journey is he doesn't have these superpowers he's never used? If he just suddenly learns it all, then what's to stop anyone else from doing this? You can't get that feeling you get at the end of issue 1 where Wesley has a gun to his head being told to shoot the wings of of the flies at gunpoint, and the look of shock when he does it.

I'm honestly hoping they pull a Batman Begins on us, and they're intentionally lying to us about things to keep us on our toes...

...I also hope that, when I get 20 bucks out of the ol' ATM for dinner tonight, that my receipt will say I have an excess of ten million dollars.

This is all very disappointing. And I so did want to see Mr. Rictus tell Wesley he doesnt **** goats, he Makes Love to them.

I'm in agreement with HR, this could be a good movie on it's own right but it'll still be WINO. They should just name it something else and then get a real Wanted movie directed by QT(in my dreams). He's got a good rep at making unheroic or villanous characters interesting protagonists that you want to watch/care about.

...does anyone else think this will just be another average movie?
I think it's too early to judge. And let's be objective, Wanted is a fun read, but it's not exactly a masterpiece. It's Watchmen meets Fight Club meets Trainspotting.

There more I learn about this 'adaption', the more I'm convinced that as much as the comic was Wesley giving a big "f**K you" to the world - this movie is a big "f**k you" to the comic.

IMO -This'll just end up to be an average, generic action movie when it coulda been, like the source material, absolutely amazing and just a little bit special.

Ummm that sounds like a masterpiece to me....unless you didn't like watchmen, fight club, or trainspotting.

Common Talks Wanted
Source: CraveOnline
July 16, 2007

CraveOnline talked to Common about starring in director Timur Bekmambetov's Wanted:

That movie was really great, it was a great experience, its called 'Wanted' and it stars Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy, I play this character named the 'Gun Smith', and man it really was a beautiful experience, we shot it in Prague, I finished [the movie] up, they're still shooting, but man, I just learned a lot on there, to be one of those characters, its funny, most of the roles I've been getting I'm shooting guns, or holding guns and that's the exact opposite of what Common is about, at least I ain't for shooting for no reason, I'm only down if its to protect one's self. Anyway, it's ironic that I'm taking on those characters but its fun.

Based on Mark Millar's graphic novel, Wanted hits theaters on March 28.
