.... I'm leaving with Sensei and Harl. *grabs the boys and runs*

Good - now we can focus our attentions on the Canadians and the Brits.

I'm just lucky Southern Accent is considered sexy......don't look at me like that..it is! :csad:

Hmm...I didn't notice that I put an "s" on "attention." I think I'll kill myself now.

No, that is actually correct grammar. Since you're talking about your attention and everyone else's attentions, it's a plural object. :)

"I focus my attention."
"We focus our attentions."

Ta-da. :)

Really? It seems to me like it should remain singular - as it is more of a collective attention.

Neither one is wrong, for the exact reason you just brought up.

But do we want to trust Canadian Grammar? Come on. You know better than that EBJ.

Well if you focus your attention and I focus my attention, we are each focusing our own attentions. But yes, if we are a group and we have a collective attention, we focus our attention. :P So either way works, like Spike said.

And hurray for English freaks. I love language. :waa:

One of my all-time favorite Seinfeld exchanges.

Jerry: He's off on vacation in the Netherlands.
George: I thought he went to Holland.
Jerry: Holland is the Netherlands.
George: ....then who are the Dutch?!

I'm just awesome. As was Iron Man incidently. Saw it yesterday...*runs off to OU*

Damn right, Iron Man was awesome. I think I may actually change my name to I. Ron Man.
