Respect? I thought that was not allowed here on the Hype. Color me confused.

byrd...you should pass the torch to someone else. These interviews were such fun. :(

That, or make time for them again. :cmad:

Sorry that I've been battling financial collapse these past few months, trusty. I'm sure the mortage company will understand that I was too busy doing ITPS to pay my house payments.

Wah! Wah! :waa:
Anyone have a violin?

You act as if I knew this? I was merely posting to say perhaps you should pass it over to someone else so it can continue.

*steps up to the plate*

Well, that was easy.

: presses button and MB falls into a spiked pit:

That was even easier. :p

*is dead*

Well, I'm just glad I forgot to tell him not to start his car...

Season III: "Seconded"

Welcome to Inside The Poster's Studio: Season III. Byrd Man found himself bound at the moment with other priorities, so I decided to step up. It is a fine concept that SuperFerret started, and then passed it down to Byrd Man, and now passed down to me. As for how long I'll be doing this? Who knows. For now, I'm trustyside-kick. Your new host.

trustyside-kick: Now, do not let the cartoon drawing deceive you, because I was not infact able to get Adam West to answer a few of my questions. Instead, we have the "Seconding" British poster Catman_prb. Welcome aboard, Cats. How does it feel? A lot different than the spin-off NUFD tried to make a while back, huh?

Catman_prb: Hey, the less we mention that the less likely Byrd is to wreak a horrible revenge...it's a very serious worry.

trusty: Now, you started your career in the Hype RPG games in the DC: New Age RPG which was set 20 years in the future from the present time. What is it about that RPG that caught your eye to be the first one you would try out?

Cats: Well a friend of mine who used to post here but keeps dissappearing showed it to me, and I just thought "Hey nice concept," I didnt even look at the other RPGs until a week later...and I didnt realise there was more than an RPG section for about two weeks.

trusty: Well, at least it did not take you too long to expand and try out other concepts that we have on these great boards. Coincidentally, you have played the Future Tim Drake, and the present day Tim Drake. When you were posting for DC: New Age, did you ever feel that it felt like the Tim you were portraying in DC could very well eventually turn into the Tim Drake you portrayed in the future? I only say this, because when you joined DC: New Age, the Bat mythos were not entirely in your control seeing as how MB and byrd got to them first.

Cats: I never really thought of doing current Tim, at first I didn't think of doing Tim at all. At first I was just focused on playing Nightwing...then I found out that Dick was dead in that continuity. So I spent an hour or so working out how play as him. The only obvious choice was Tim. But I always like playing into someone elses continuity, it lets me think creatively...but not too creatively. When I get too creative I tend to lose interest after a few minutes.

trusty: Understandable. Sort of, several minds working together to where you work off one another can stimulate and continue interest on the matter longer than having to think of it all yourself and become overwhelmed. I recall a time when you told us that the "prb" part of your username was in rememberance to a friend, but the first part of your username is quite obvious. Seeing that...why is it, that you have yet to pick up the character Catman in the World of Heroes: DC RPG?

Cats: I haven't checked continuity yet...he's probably dead or secretly a woman. Anyway, there are much better and deadlier villains around than a guy with a cat obsession. That said I don't think i've played a villain in World of Heroes either.

trusty: Ouch. Have you happened to have read the Infinite Crisis tie-in "Villains United"?

Cats: Yes. Yes I have. He may be bad-ass in that, but that's just cos they completely changed everything about him. Not that that's a bad thing. But if I pick up that version of Cats then I have to mention him having sex with Cheshire...all the time. And having kids with her. I think. I forget.

trusty: Well, not quite. The DC RPG's jumping off point is OWAW (Our Worlds at War). You could entirely make him your own character, keeping the badass return and not bringing along that there have been at least two woman who tried to sleep with him just to have his child...although one was through her father. To me, he is a villain, but a noble one at that. But, if my words do not sway you, then do they not sway you.

Alright, time to move on to some of your more current characters. I'm sure everyone is ever so curious about Robin over in World of Heroes: DC RPG. The Teen Titans, as was the case in the first Dark Alliance arc, have been brutally hurt and tormented like no other member of the RPG with the newest incarnation of the Dark Alliance. Being "new" to the World of Heroes: DC RPG mythos still, how did it feel essentially being one of the center stars? You feel any pressure on you for playing the leader of the Titans after Supergirl was killed?

Cats: Oh very much so. It was like two hours after GL's post, and suddenly I realise "****, I'm in charge now,". After a few days of panic, I calmed down a bit. It's not really that hard as long as I talk to the players on the team, or put decisions up to vote IC. And I didn't really think Tim was a central character in the RPG until this arc. But as long as I play him well, I don't have any problems with it.

trusty: Well I think you pretty muched nailed his character. No worries in that department. Towards the end of the Dark Alliance 2 arc...I noticed something right away with your posts: you started to sort of create an inner struggle within Robin. You had one half of him thinking one way, and the other arguing against it. Sort of like, the classic angel and devil upon one's shoulders. What made you decide to take such a different approach towards the end of the arc?

Cats: I just thought it'd be interesting to do. On his own, Tim can be far too dull, so he needs someone to counter the way he acts. Normally that's a member of the Titans, but I can't bunny them all the time, so I just came up with the voice. Oh, and in my opinion all of the bat family are off their rocker. And I needed a way to do that without having him turn into a supervillain...or kill himself...or randomly sleep with Tarantula.

trusty: I do not think what happened with Nightwing can be called randomly sleeping...I...I do not know what to call it. GL has explained the panels to me many times but I still think the transition from them are odd.

The Death of Batman obviously adds a big load for Tim to deal with right now. There were so many ways to have Tim react to and approach the situation. What was going through your mind as you were deciding how he would react?

Cats: Well the idea that everyone he has ever thought of as a parent or girlfriend is dead. All the emotional damage he's had over the years, I thought for once he should just act like a normal teenager, ie get angry and then get depressed as opposed to going all cold and 'bats' on everyone.

trusty: Fair enough. Good answer. When I was comping up with that question, and assuming the possible answers...didn't think of you mentioning acting as any regular teen. But that is pretty much the way it goes half the time, you know?

Cats: I do indeed.

trusty: Alright, time to wrap up this dicussion about Tim. People are going to think that is all we talked about this interview! I'm sure a lot of people are wondering what the Bat Family has planned for next Season, with their ringleader out of the spotlight. Is there anything you wish to leak to us about such plans for next Season? Call it a...Season Teaser if you'd like.

Cats: Nah, a series of people would rip me apart. It'll be good though, have faith.

trusty: Very well. Let's move onto Ultimate DC. There are two characters in particular that I wish to discuss with you: let's start with the first.

I've read a good deal of Batman stories. I know, shocking. You'd think that all I lived and breathed was Aquaman. But I am most definitely a huge Batman fan. But you portray a certain villain, whom, in the only appearance I have read with him I absolutely loved. Black Mask in Under the Hood, was spectacular. Now, seeing as how I have read so little of his appearances, educate me a little bit here. What would you say were the major changes you made for his Ultimization? This is one sick dude over in Ultimate DC.

Cats: Well...I think Ultimate Mask is much more likely to shoot a man just to see him die. And I try to include as much torture as possible. There's a way to make him completely repulsive and evil to the reader known as "Rape the Dog". With Black Mask I try to do that as much as possible, then have him laugh about it.

trusty: I personally loved when, and correct if I'm wrong, he basically fought Hawkman out of boredom and since he enjoyed it so much went along with Two-Face's plan against Batman.

Cats: Well I was gonna make him an adrenaline junky who fight heroes for kicks, but that kind of fell through when a lot of heroes aren't available.

trusty: Didn't want to NPC a hero either? Then again, kicking their butts via NPC is not the same experiene. I should know, since I had Brother Blood also whoop Hawkman's tail feather. Sensei I suppose is just a great punching bag.

While reading your posts...I was definitely surprised it had come from you. He is so different from any other character you do or have portrayed before; was unexpected. That is most definitely a compliment. Truly vicious and truly malicious. We always praise Keyser for his jaw dropping, kiddy-killing, Joker posts and Harl recently with his Captain Nazi has received such similar praise as of late. And here, in UDC, you seem to be the villain just doing some of the most gruesome of things to anyone: regardless if it is a man, woman, or child.

From here, we shall move on to the next character I wanted to discuss. Now, it was not so much what you have done with this character as much as it is my curiosity on your plans for picking up such a character. When it comes to the story arc "Batman: Hush"...it seemed that you either hated it or you loved it. Recently in the Ultimate DC RPG, you have picked up the job of portraying Thomas Elliot; which surprised me. Were you a pretty big fan of Hush?

Cats: I am, yeah. Just such an awesome character. I mean, there was no real mystery as to who Hush was - the mysterious friend from his past who has just started to be mentioned? Surely not! - but he's just a villain without many gimmicks who wants to kill Batman. He's the anti-bats in many ways.

trusty: Of all of the Batman villains, he seemed to be the least likely to be picked up to me. He is such a new villain, and has not had too many appearances outside of his introductary arc. I've heard so many bashings on the character. I personally liked him though. What made him so appealling to you, that you would attemp to "Ultimize" over other Bat Rogues that have yet to have been "Ultimized"? Were you planning on making him a big villain in UDC? I for one, absolutely loved Hush, and was excited to see you pick him up to add him to Ultimate DC's Rogues Gallery. You think we will see him put on the bandages anytime soon? Or am I asking you to reveal too much? Sorry to throw so many questions at once. You can see how curious I am.

Cats: Well I wanted to play a character that could start out as a hero, then decline into the villain - much like Two-Face. I mean, that happens a lot in a villains opening arc, but I wanted to see if i had the patience to carry on with him being the hero, like Keyser's doing in OU. I have no idea if he'll be a big villain or not. No bandages for a while.

trusty: Sounds great. I admire that. With Clayface in UDC I tried to the same thing, steadily but surely making him turn. And yes, Keyser has definitely done a superb job with Harvey Dent over in OU. And that, is exactly where we will be going next. I have a few questions about one particular character you play in OU. I believe you have an idea who.

Cats: I'm gonna guess it isn't Constantine...

trusty: Oh, but it infact is. And you will soon see why. Shortly bringing up the Dark Alliance 2 arc again...of all the things that resulted from the arc, I must say one of the most fun moments for me was your brief NPCing of the mystical character known as John Constantine. Now, you portray him over in the One Universe RPG currently and I believe he even joined the Defenders. Let no one ever question this: you play one great pissed off Brit.

Cats: I can relate. However, I dropped him after the Defencers arc finished Mr Roster-Man. Dude i'll be about ten minutes - kitten emergency.

trusty: Okay. Heh, guess there are more than one reason your username has "Catman" in it. No problem. Bad joke...I know.

Cats: Awful - still running around after Kittens.

trusty: Even though Constantine no longer is being portrayed by you in OU, still worth discussing, of course. You briefly NPCed him in DC and you are now finished with him over in OU. You think we might get a taste of John's oh so lovable attitude in DC again in the near future? Given how SenseiofCheese plays Zatara and you guys no doubt get along...I'd love nothing more than a Zatara and Constantine arc to occur between the two of you. That is, if Watchman no longer portrays him of course. I think it is as clear as day, that people enjoy your Constantine dialogue as much as Sensei's Zatara dialogue.

Cats: Well I'd love to, but I'm enjoying Watchman's work at the moment. Anyway, all my character slots are gonna be filled up over there real soon.

trusty: Lastly, I think I will reveal to the audience something that I asked you to do. ITPS started off to sort of really, only have Vets as the Interviewee. Being dubbed "noob" might have created some sort of fantasy or something...I don't know about when you too would finally get to be interviewed. I asked you to think of things you wanted to discuss, since you and others like you waited so long for their interview. I wished to stray from using byrd's "standard" of questions during his Season of ITPS to be different...but even without asking some of those questions, anything else you'd like to add in? That you personally wanted to discuss? Or do you feel I have "fulfilled your heart's desires" with my questions?

Cats: ...Well I wouldn't put it in such an overtly sexual way but yes, desires have been fulfilled.

trusty: Why you gotta make it out to be like that? :(

And here, we will end the interview. See ya around, Cats.

Cats: Au revoir.

Great interview. Especially the parts where you mention me.
Incidentally, I lawled when Cats had to go deal with the kitten. I can just picture you sitting at your computer, calmly answering trusty's questions, and then transforming into this swearing, shouting Brit running around, chasing a kitten.

Thank you guys.

byrd would post these on Saturdays, but I'm going to on Wednesdays during the middle of the week. Weekend nights wouldn't work for me.

So. You guys know who has an AIM account now, and would love to be interviewed in order to stroke his constantly shrinking and expanding ego? :csad:

I'm not going to decide and PM the next Interviewee until probably Monday. If I decide so any sooner, I might get so impatient with having my questions ready so early I will want to start the interview early. Then, having the interview sitting around would only make me want to post it before Wednesday night. :clown:

AIM? Pfft. You would know how to get that right when I got rid of my account. :o
