Playstation Insomniac's Wolverine

I would expect Wolverine to be longer

I hope the length of this is a bit longer than Miles Morales. If its a linear game, as long as Guardians of the GalaXy would be fine (which from what I've read that game is two times longer than Miles but I'm still playing it).

And I hope we see more than 3 villains. Like 8 would be awesome.
Supposedly it won't be fully open world so probably more linear but either way I'm sure it'll be a longer game than Miles Morales.

Marvel’s Wolverine Reportedly a “Hard R,” Not Fully Open-World, Targeting 2024/2025

I don't think open world gameplay is a necessity for a Wolverine game but if it was, Days Gone is the perfect blueprint for it.

Would Wolverine not be as long as the mainline Spider-Man games rather than Miles?

I could see it being about as long as the first Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, roughly 18 hours or so for just going through the main story, especially if its open world is limited.

I had an impression its a shorter game because it ain't a X-Men game, but we'll see.

Hmm I really don't know a lot things there is to do with a Wolverine open game. I'm thinking its a linear game but the Spider-Man games made me think otherwise.

If the game took place in one location in a city like Madripoor I could see it being open world but as it is it'll probably be more like The Last of Us 2. Linear but with a few areas here and there that are semi-open world with a lot of areas to explore.

I feel like they've already confirmed it's a linear semi-open world game, similar to God of War.

It was one of the things Jeff Grubb reported on, along with this rumoured release window. Grubb has a pretty decent track record so I'm inclined give him the benefit of the doubt.

He mentioned a potential release window (but also reckons 25 more likely), the game will feature dismemberment, will be semi-linear like GoW.

Insomniac's Wolverine could reportedly launch as early as autumn 2024
Wow, if Insomniac manage that they are absolute machines. Is there any other studio putting out high quality games at this rate in this gen with longer dev cycles and numerous obstacles.

They definitely release games faster compare to other PlayStation Studios aside from the studio that releases MLB The Game every year. If Wolverine is released neXt year, it would be their fifth game since 2018, siX if we count the Spider-Man remaster.

:susd:

MLB is an iterative game so I guess it’s not quite as much work. We’ll have to see how different the Wolverine games are to Spider-Man but I find it impressive that they also do something different with Ratchet.

Yeah, I still think 2024 is crazy optimistic. You can't really trust a date until the company has at least announced one, because every developer will want as much time to work on a game as they're allowed to have haha

2024 feels absolutely best case and would really cement Insomniac as the most productive high quality studio out there. I’m mentally adding another year to be safe, and even that I would find impressive when they are deep into SM2 at the same time.

At this point, it's coming well before Deadpool 3 if it indeed comes out in 2024

Super-efficient these Insomniac people are. Does no one sleep there? :o (I’m sure no one ever made that joke before)

From what I hear, ironically they get a lot more rest compared to other game studio employees :o apparently the development of Rift Apart had little to no crunch

I'm not buying a 2024 release. Early 2025 maybe

Wow, I had quietly worried that some hidden crunch might be partly behind them putting out so much more than other studios. Seems like everyone else should be paying to go on courses to study the Insomniac model and implement it. It must be an amazing place to work.

Really looking forward to this. Hope we get some footage early next year.
