I'd like for the action scenes to be pretty much the same as in Batman Begins. I'm sure it's been said before, but the criminals Batman's fighting with can't see the moves clearly, so why should we? The shaky camera and quick cuts demonstrate to us how ferocious Batman is, and how much the thugs fear him. However, I think if he were to go head to head with the Joker, the camera should pull back, and the shot's should last longer, because Joker isn't afraid of Batman, taking away that advantage.

A must, I like how it was quick but I love it when its quick and they dont shake and change the shot so you are confused its like your too slow. Like in Snatch when Mickey punches gorgeous george. You go wait wtf!I think the brutal, real life fighting in BB was perfect for a gritty film like Nolan was going for,I think the fighting would seem so forced if the fighting scenes were longer like when he fights Ras on the ice and on the train both scenes are fairly long and I could see every move pretty clearly, but I wouldnt complain if they did some Equilibrium fighting scenes too(If you havent seen this movie I recomend it,Bale is in it,enough said). As long as there are no CGI fighting(spider-man,daredevil,hulk)and no slow motion I will happy.Remember Nolan can do no wrong.
No people just want to see whats going on.
How was it unique if they are copying the same style from the Bourne films????
But that is the big thing. It worked for you but it didnt work for the 137 people who voted in this poll.
These polls are worth what they're worth: beside having fanboys talk, not much. Around these foruns I even read people casting Poison Ivy, Robin or Catwoman... But hey, it's another fans opinion. To be in minority doesn´t mean I'm wrong. There's NOTHING said in this thread about the fighting editing that made me even think about it. See the Spidey example. Fanboys asked and cryed about Venom and black costume for sooooo long... The result? Pure crap. I'm with Nolan at being a better filmaker that deliver a film that stands on its own, not only batfans pleaser. I respect your opinion, just dont agree at all. Good thread anyway.
I wholeheartedly agree. As I said earlier in the thread, I think that fight in Bourne Ultimatum was one of the best fight sequences I've ever seen.spiral said:The big fight in the apartment in the Bourne Ultimatum is one of the most intense fighting sequences I've seen in a very long time.
Exactly. And the movie was COMPLETELY in Greengrass's style. So there is no excuse for Nolan not to be able to do something like this. Put a few more seconds between the cuts and have the camera pulled back a foot or two and it would make a world of difference.
Ding ding ding! Thankyou!Compare the fighting in the Bourne Supremacy to the Bourne Ultimatum.
The camera work of Greengrass is the same, except for some notable differences. He answered and responded to the fans and critics of the movie. He kept his style the same, however he pulled the camera back a little bit and let us actually watch the intense fight scenes from a place where we could actually follow it.

If Nolan answered his critics like Greengrass did and just pulls back and lingers a little bit, he can maintain his style and let us actually appreciate and understand the fight choreography.
