Iron Fist Iron fist Costume thread

I'd've put him in those robes just for when he's meditating and stuff. And at some point have him get into a battle while meditating and fight in it/take it off/torn off as he's fighting.
Meh, it's a letdown either way. I hated that clip because it felt like the producers taunting me with what I really wanted to see.

After watching it, I'm fine with no costume since having one really doesn't fit naturally anywhere in the narrative as it has been written. He's not like Daredevil in the masked crime fighter sense, there's not need for an outfit(yet). Still I wish there was some sort of proto-costume made of normal looking clothes that match his color scheme.

Not getting my hopes up for a costume.
Can't see him getting one in the 8 episodes of defenders and with the poor reviews for season one of Iron Fist, will we even be getting a second?

I think he absolutely needs one though.

Here's something I put together.

I think alot of whats been done for daredevil would work well for Iron Fist.
His costume should be much lighter though.
Some upper body armor and a helmet is as far as it should I'd say.

I don't really care for the facial hair but it's the only picture of Finn Jones that I could find that worked for this. :hehe:

I still hate any costume that looks like body armor. That's just not Iron Fist to me.

The one they showed, grainy as it was, was completely authentic. It's very much a green Gi with the mask and Obi and everything. The photoshopped color reversal of the robes is more authentic to how his costume usually is. Think about it, it's the ceremonial warrior outfit of the Iron Fist from K'un Lun. It's not the God Damned Batman.

Anyone gif or record that archival footage yet?

Given what we've seen so far of the Defenders, Danny's been given a green shirt that has a contrasting yellow under the collar and I presume that it'll be turned up at some point as a nod to the comic book costume, but that's all I fear we'll get - a nod. A faintest whiff.

I'm not fine with it.

Neither am I. And not only is there no reason not to do so (they couldnt even give us a Game of Death style jumpsuit?) but, and I know we've joked about it before, in all seriousness D/D really is going to stand out like a sore thumb in this group.

I'm that desperate for a costume I think I'd watch that over and over if someone posted one. Definately one of the high points of the series.

It was basically Zorro without his hat and two radiating fists. The footage looked like from some night vision camera.

I think it was grainy black and white rather than night vision, since I think it was World War II.

I would assume that the champion of a mystical monastery would have some sort of unique outfit to denote his special place in society...or at least...it would not be unique for a religious type order to give certain members symbolic clothing.

Yeah it was decades old and like from the 30s or 40s.

Yep, that it was. I cant work out whether it was awesome in its own right or if it was awesome just because that IF wore some semblance of an outfit though. Ok, benefit of the doubt - i'll say the former. The two glowing fists swing it.

No mask + no costume = no Iron Fist, but just a generic character. Sorry. I'm not sold at all.

Put me in the 'not fine with it' club also. I loved the series overall, but still bummed a bit they didn't have a costume. Though I think the archival footage coupled with Danny technically on the journey could have set the seeds for a costume at some point. Though I hope that's not just false hope.

Speaking of 'Game of Death', did anyone else get those soet of vibes from the episode where Danny fought those three Hand fighters in challenge with Madame Gao? I liked those guys. Would have been nice to see them as re-occurring antagonists.

I was hoping the fist effects would look more like this

Well, it isn't exactly an 'IFINO' situation, as he actually has the the Iron Fist and we see him use it a fair few times, but I get what you're saying.

I want him to have a costume but he didn't earn one.

Rand barely understands the fist. He didn't know it can heal and he does still can't tap into it consistently.
Who would have made the costume for him?
He wasn't fighting to represent anything like DD. DD wanted the costume to scare criminals and represent something in Hell's Kitchen. DD was fighting out of vengeance, he kept saying he was the IF but that was name only.

I was going to say I wonder if Matt Murdock saw it and was inspired as it's basically his costume but then remembered he's blind *facepalm*

I for sure think he needs a costume, but I think it'll be really tough to pull off the mask. Not saying he shouldn't have a mask, just that they havent their work cut out for them

If Danny does get his costume then I would like to se Davos wear one too.

Well Daredevil's first costume seemed pretty popular and that was essentially the same thing. Also the Iron Fist costume from the archival footage seems to work well enough imo.

Honestly, that mask looks way better than I thought it would. They could definitely pull off that whole bandana/cowl thing. Daredevil basically looked like Iron Fist, but only in black. The only thing I was worried about were the eyes, but it looks like they pulled that off as well.

Yeah I saw that in another thread and I dont think the mask looks good..

Daredevil's first costume didn't have the eye holes.
Idk I just think the mask looks stupid without the white eyes.
