Iron Fist Iron fist Costume thread

Still not good enough. It's just the angles of his hoodie making it look like the upturned collar of his comic outfit.

Considering what I was expecting that's a huge improvement. At least it's evocative to some degree.

Scott Buck: "Too much hint of a costume.... must tone down.... cannot compute...."

I don't want evocative. I want a bloody costume!

I'm sure your answer will be that you want it to show up as soon as possible, but wouldn't you agree that it would make way more sense for it to show up in his own show first?

A hoodie? My God. I can go down to my local Primark and buy a green onesie for £10 that would be better than a bloody hoodie [or simple green shirt].

Based on what Scott Buck said...no.

Danny could be going to a fancy-dress party and Buck still wouldn't put him in a costume.

What if Scott Buck wasn't developing Season Two (we have no idea if he is or isn't)? Daredevil switched producers between seasons and Buck is obviously working on Inhumans.

Scott Buck needs to work on a show called "Superhero Costume" where the title would be the biggest misnomer ever. :o

We have no idea if season 2 will even happen yet.

I think they're waiting to see if he gets a better reception in Defenders. If people still don't like him or there's no surge in demand it's likely goodbye for Danny, sadly.

Scott Buck won't care. At least he'll have done a full series of IF without him ever donning a costume, which is what he wanted all along.

Finn Jones has already said that there'll be an announcement about season two soon. But yeah, I expect they'll wait until after The Defenders has been released.

Despite critical reception, it got good viewer numbers, best we can tell.

I'm just saying, for narrative reasons, it would be better if Iron Fist's costume appeared in an Iron Fist story for the first time. If it makes it any better, imagine I said, "it would be better if a faithful Iron Fist costume appeared in a non-Scott Buck Iron Fist story for the first time."

Yeah I hope they take the costume criticism to hart. That fanart looks perfect and practical.

I’m hoping for something like Daredevil’s cowl plus the sash. Like the one in avengers academy here:

The inverted Game of Death style jumpsuit (ala the Sanford Greene design) aside from being cool as all hell literally couldn't be easier to both make and apply (they could make it a two-piece like the Brides in Kill Bill if they thought an all in one was hokey) yet somehow I don't think we'll even get that.

EDIT* just seen the fan art above - more of a retro tracksuit but yeah, don't see why that wouldn't work either. Makes more sense and looks better than a green, unbuttoned shirt.

For reference, that's Danny's latest costume on Avengers Assemble S4.

I've spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking of ways that the costume could have been included in the first season. (More precisely the mask. That's all he really needed.) In doing so I've looked over interviews with Scott Buck saying how, "there was no good reason we could imagine to put Danny Rand in a costume." And all I could think was: "Then maybe...you should imagine...harder."

My argument was this:

He should have worn the costume in the tournament challenge in episode six or whenever it was (show the costume in the first episode without him wearing it to foreshadow it). He's wearing it because it's what he wears in a sacred competition like that.

Then he should wear it in the final battle. The symbolic idea is he recognizes that he's the Iron Fist as a fighter even when he fights for New York or himself or whatever as opposed to just for K'un Lun.

My hope is he'll be inspired by Daredevil next season to wear a costume, but I also want him to draw on his K'un Lun heritage for inspiration.
