Alright. I know that the purpose of Marvel Comics is to sell comics. They are a business. They are in the business of selling comics to comic book readers. And I am okay with that.
But the way they are putting out Endangered Species is beyond good business, I feel like they are spitting on my face and telling me I would like another. I was excited for this event, I haven't read a core X-Men book aside from Whedon's Astonishing (which seems to take place in semi-continuity) since Grant Morrison left New X-Men. I was vastly entertained by the Endangered Species one-shot, but was shocked to read that in order to read the book, I'd have to pick up...
17 weekly published books that I don't read!!!! And...it's being told in 8 page back up stories!!! I have to buy $51 worth of books I don't read to get the story. Here's the thing...17 x 8 = 136 pages, about the equivalent of a 6-issue miniseries. But why put out a 6 issue mini with tie-ins over 6 months when you can tell the whole story in 4 months and FORCE people to buy the tie-in books because that's where the story takes place?
Whoever thought up this "brilliant" marketing strategy at Marvel needs to be shot. Now, not only will I not buy X-Men 200 as I was planning to, but I'm making a conscious effort to avoid all X-books once Astonishing is through. I know this sounds stupid, as I am only one person, but they have completely isolated me. I can't be the only person who feels this way.
There must be some of you who, say, read Uncanny and X-Men who aren't happy about being forced to buy the other X-books just to understand the story you're reading, right?
doesnt matter. she's still legal now. that and one of the olsens is a wild one too, i forget which one...i think its the one that looks like a skeleton wearing skin
1 - Was just poking fun at Crazy Lindsey.
2 - I get the 'she's legal NOW' thingy. Still, WAITING for it is kinda creepy.
Yup. Thus my whole "why would anyone over 20 actually not be creeped out by X-23's premise".
Or run before the feds show up. Whatever.
seeing as she has blades in places Wolverine doesnt....i'd actually be fearful of going 'there'
also...is her entire skeleton adamantium or just the blades and are the blades even adamantium?
and is wolverine's son, Dakan's blades adamantium?
Phalanx Covenant sucked. The only good part was Generation Next. Life Signs and Final Sanction were borign and just not that interestingPhalanx Covenant ROCKED...as did Operation: Zero Tolerance...and Extinction Agenda and...etc....
You are right. It was sh**, with the exception of Gen Next of course, which was about a bunch of newbies. The stories with the X-men and other main teams just stunkhere u go sucking again havok. Phalanx Covenant was the ****

except even though Gen Next took place in the core book, the X-men were not involved in that aspect of the story. The team was in the other 2 parts of the crossover so thats why I consider them part of the main action and since you cant even remember them, that goes to show how forgettable it all was.well i actually cannot remember anything other than the Gen next part...so perhaps you're right...but in most all the crossovers only the action that occurs in the main X-Men books are good...which was the case with gen-Next...it was in both uncanny and X-men. all the other books' contribution was lackluster.

ROFL So true. I'm only excited fr all the stories because this'll be my first crossover. Although just the thought of having to read X-factor gives me the creeps..*shivers* But all the ther X-books I'm a bit noticeable withThe build-up for the crossover, is bigger than the crossover itself.
Wait, you dislike X-Factor more than NXM???
I don't read X-factor at all, just looks pretty stupid to me. Mostly because it has characters I don't care for. I guess Ishouldn't be judging a book if I don't read it huh? Oh well, the characters still suck to meOriginally posted by DarthCyclopsRLZ
