Is Iraq better off with Saddam or Worse?

This is a grey issue. On one hand you don't have a government in Iraq that is abusing and killing its own people, but on the other you have a complete lack of security due to the incompetence of this new government.

I'm sick of seeing Saddam's name on every other thread topic.

yeah...with Castro dead communism will stop forever!!!!! YAY!
well maybe not In China.

but they're cool

Impossible to tell.

Also, you make too many threads in too short a time span.:meow:

Cuba is pretty screwed either way.:csad:

I've heard castro aint that bad.. but, i could be wrong. nobody really knows him anyway. he's a commie so we of course "have" to hate him right?

Iraq needed a dictatorship to remain stable. Something America has finally realized. Too bad it cost tax payers nearly half a trillion.

is this a logical question?
seriously....this shouldn't require much thought...

Most Iraqis lived reasonably comfortable stable lives under Sadam Hussien. It was only a tiny minority that was violently oppressed.

Now most the country is at war with itself. Thousands die daily and fewer have electricity or water than when Saddam was in power. So the answer isn't that obvious unless you accept the idiotic propoganda you get from Fox News.

if f**king Iraqis didn't set off car-bombs every 5 minutes, maybe they wouldn't have problems

Maybe a dictatorship was needed to keep the the sunnis and shi'ites in line. Iraq isn't like most countries you know. The sectarian rifts make democracy a pipe dream.

If the country is consumed by violence and instability then it's a strong possibiltiy that 30 million Iraqis were happier and safer under a dictatorship.
