Is Joker supposed to know who Bruce Wayne is?

I was watching the easter eggs video for bvs, and the guy in the video suggests that it might be the joker taunting bruce wayne about him letting his family die.

Is Joker, or any iteration of Joker in the comics aware of Batman's secret identity?

is it unclear? because I thought DC wanted to make a distinction on who knows, and who doesn't. like, bane knows, and (I think) dr. strange knows but is joker, the archenemy, aware?

The thing with the Joker isn't whether he knows or not. It's more about would he care. If a regular person found out about Batmans ID then who knows what they'd do? One of his regular rogues gallery like Scarecrow or Croc would either try to use it against him or sell it off. Joker is different. He doesn't give a crap who Batman is. Batman is Batman to him and in some continuities like Batman Beyond Bruce even calls himself Batman in his mind. If anything it might make it less fun for him to know Bruce was an orphan and whatnot.

Basically I can't imagine that with everything they've been through together that the Joker couldn't have found out some way by now. He could but I don't think he'd try very hard to.

If it gets a rise out of him then he'll use it but actually trying to to expose his identity or destroy him as Bruce Wayne would be pretty boring for him. "I could wreck his life and make him even more of an outcast but that wouldn't be fun. On the other hand I could kidnap people he cares about for fun."

This is exactly how he thinks.
He doesn't care about Bruce Wayne out of his mask, he needs the costume to feel complete.

Canon wise i think its not clearly stated on the joker, not even with strange and bane its 100%clear if they know it "currently".

There are many different opinions on this matter:

1.The joker doesnt know it and doesnt care.
2.He only knows batman, his mind simply cant understand that there is someone beneath this mask.
If he would take off the mask, the joker would only see a faceless human.
(that is my favorite theory)
3. He knows it but doesnt really care.
4. He knows it but wants to beat him as batman, take everything away from gotham and for what batman stands.

He knows. He just doesn't care about it being "Bruce Wayne" because to him he's just Batman. As seen in stories like Batman R.I.P., Grant Morrison's Batman & Robin run and the recent Endgame.
