Marvel or DC, who you could logically see unmasking? i've come to the realization that the reason why we're so pissed about Spider-Man going public is because it's such an illogical move. He's suffered loss when someone learned his identity. More than once in fact. He stands to lose even more. And he's witnessed first hand what happened when Daredevil's name reached the newsstands. But is there anyone who currently operates under a secret identity & wouldn't be totally screwed if he/she went public?

Within the Marvel Universe, it really doesnt matter, since Spider-Man was at essence the last hero to actually have a secret identity.

DC, no clue. Logically speaking no.

Funny you say that, b/c he was also the first to have one.

Funny how that works out.

Though from the DCU, I can see Wonder Woman within a reasonable situation revealing her identity. Well, maybe before the Gods and Themysciara were gone, since really her only family are the Amazons and doesnt deal with anyone else within the civilian population.

DC is hard, though. If Supes goes public the Kents are dead. Period. Lex & Metallo would show up at Lois' doorstep & pray he tried to save her. If Batman goes public the government would seize control of every inch of Wayne Enterprises.
Then too, after "Identity Crisis" I think the secret identity policy in the DCU is "protect it at all costs"; another reason, I guess, why having Spidey unmask was stupid.

Given the circumstances surrounding spideys unmasking I can see lots of heroes doing it if presented things under a similar fashion.

????
The question was, who could LOGICALLY do it? i.e., without fear of it biting them in the booty.

(two seconds of thought)
No,... Spiderman was the worse,.... all the rest who WOULDN'T have issues have already been unmasked.:ninja:

Well considering there arn't that many masked people with secrect identies in the MU...

Right so that would go with the whole "Arn't that many msaked people with secret identies" part.

who could do it logically and who could do it without fear of someone getting hurt are actually two different questions.

The second Mr. Terrific. Michael Holt. He's got nothing left to lose. I'm pretty sure his identity is still secret though.

NO-if there's a serious danger of someone you love getting hurt then it's illogical for you to do it. I covered that in my opening post.

I don't see why they just unmask Batman since he can run around as Batman for months and no one questions where Bruce Wayne is.

Bruce has always been a bit of a recluse.

Yeah but still someone should question that much.

But Alfred can cover for him; say he's in Switzerland or something.

True, but I would be a skeptic. Someone needs to question why Superman is different from Clark Kent though they look the same.

true...but i also think yeah spidey unmasking was daft and not a good idea...but it was tony who talked spidey into it..he wouldnt have done it off his own back...and when tony stabs him in the back which he will...spideys distrust of him is already growing...spidey will realsie the mistake he's made...he was just a pawn of starks.

this will have repurcussions for a long time to come...alot of heroes will fall out and stuff....well thats already happened.

all it takes tho is galactus to reappear or...onslaught...and the heroes will once more band togethr as one big unit...

They did. The Martian Manhunter transforms into either Clark or Supes. Done.

supergirl did that too at the end of the death and return of superman....works like a charm :D

Does Cap even have a secret identity anymore? If so, him. In DC, I don't know. I'd say Superman, but then within about thirty seconds of his going public, The Parasite and Metallo would have impaled a good chunk of the daily planet staff and placed them outside as decoration. Wonder Woman and Aquaman don't really have secret identities in any way that matters, and J'onn's got about 100 all over the world. The Flash was public for a while, and in retrospect I'm a little pissed that they undid it. Maybe Hal. He really doesn't have anybody.

Cap went public a few years ago, when his book became the anti-terrorism title.

There are actually several heroes in both universes who have frequently "unmasked." Ray Palmer and Ralph Dibny both had public identities...and, well, you can see just how well that worked out for them. Guy Gardner obviously never bothered wearing a mask. John Stewart did for a while, but then decided to forgo it. Jade, Fire, Ice, Ted Kord, Booster Gold, a lot of JLI members...the list goes on. Some people, like Black Canary and Alan Scott and Black Lightning, I have difficulty figuring out if their identities are secret or not.

On the Marvel side, obviously almost the entire X-Men teams have "unmasked" themselves.
