Also what is your definition of United? Or better yet what is your defintion of the United States of America?
I think the lack of national unity can be laid at G Dubya's feet.Honestly, September 12th 2001 was one of the only days in my life that I seen this country actually unified and everyone was watching each others backs. Well, till the fear mongering came into full effect. Oh, and after our leaders didn't go all in on October 7th to get Osama.

How old are you? This has been going on since at least 1992. I'm no fan of the guy, but Dubya came into office at a time where deep division already existed. The 1990's were very, very politically divisive. I wasn't paying much attention in the 1980's but I've heard they were as well.

The Administration of George W. Bush gave this country a strong distrust of Muslim-American Communities. Instead of strongly abolishing that mode of thinking after 9/11, he stoked it. The fact that attacking Obama as a muslim shows the stain on the National consciousness at this time. It's 2008, not 1958. Archie Bunker isn't as cute anymore. Time for that mode of thinking to gather a 6 ft. layer of dirt.

t:And muslims account for what? 2 percent of the total public? Sorry, that's not enough to cause this level of division. And Archie Bunker's my f***in' hero.t:
I'm just so sick of this multi-cultural BS.

BS?? I was under the impression that this country was founded on the principles of freedom of religion and speech...where a person could believe as they wish without fear of reprisal or being ostracized...? Black people are a small percentage as well...do we not count??? what about Asians???

"Multi-cultural BS... "
Ugh... I love this country so much and think being an American is the greatest privilege one could ask for... and then I read this kind of trash. Complete backwards, racist, naive, unintelligent, hate mongering.
The amount of people in this country, hell, in this world, that are so AFRAID of something different than themselves. And all they know how to do with their small brains is to hate what they fear. Cut it down. Make it seem less than themselves.
My grandmother gave me the best advice of my life. "Travel. Travel the world and take every experience you can... meet everyone and anyone you can; listen, don't talk. Learn something before you get too old that you don't want to learn anything new anymore."
Thank god for that woman. Lest I ended up being someone like kedrell.
Simply sickening.![]()

During 9/11, Americans were faking their unity. That's why we were so easily dispersed as a nation afterwards. It was like a giant fake orgasm created by a great tragedy, that we all believed was real. I blame the deep rooted evil that we all refuse to admit that dwells in us all.![]()
I'm starting to think SHH stands for Socialist Hero Hype, given the number of you that are on here. Anyway, continue with all your knee-jerk, liberal reactions to my post. Gee, I must be a rascist huh?
Your over-sensitivity only makes me laugh. Keep putting words in my mouth and misinterpreting what I say/taking me out of context. It's what liberals do best, other than trying to steal every penny I have so they can give it to some damn kids for their school lunches. You folks have actually made me decide to vote for McCain now, even though I don't care much for him beyond the war hero thing and was planning on voting for a write in.
