I haven't done a great deal of research, but as I remember it, traveling forward in time is physically possible with time dilation, and backwards in time is possible although a lot more complex and difficult, but can apparently only be done in less than nanoseconds at a time.

So, what's your opinion on time travel?

(and let the Back to the Future references begin)

Yes it is possible! Even if it is physically possible I guarenttee you there is a way to send brain wave patterns back in time in some way, in other words telepathically inserting memories or ideas into a past being.

Well, I haven't accomplished it yet, but maybe if I go sit at my cubicle, stare at a clock and scrunch up my face, it'll happen.

Yatta!

:p

Since the construct of time and space are one in the same (time-space continuum), I try not to think of it in terms of, "forward," and, "backwards." In my mind, time travel would entail a movement through both time and space such that there's either:

1) An exact recreation of circumstances prior that may or may not lead to the events of our own time/space ("backwards").

2) A shift in time/space that leads to the specific set of outcomes that would inevitably have occurred in our universe (though not necessarily in parallel universes).

Is it possible? I don't know. I'm no physicist...I just calls 'em as I sees 'em.

It is possible to travel into the future, yes. The faster you physically travel, the faster time goes for you. So, theoretically, if you were able to travel at the speed of light, you could travel pretty far into the future. In my physics class in High School we actually asked the teacher about time travel once, and ended up having an entire discussion about this.

It is impossible to go backwards though, no matter how many times you fly around the earth backwards...Superman lied to us all :o

I have a time machine. unfortunately it only goes forward and at normal speed.

Seen Donnie Darko recently? :p That explains it all...

So even if we miraculously do get to build a machine that time travels forward, we can't even really prove it since the people testing it can't go back to the present and confirm? :(

That's kinda hilarious. :funny:

LOL
You "guarenttee" that it's possible?!
Those are large words.
So if we can't do it, I'll address my grievances to you.

Me and my friend went on with this the other day, he says time travel is impossible and his reason is that somone would have come back from the future and let us know by now, but thats the thing.. i argued that there is no future written yet.. thus no futureisitc devices, namly a time machine... so technically since we dont know what the future is like since we havnt been threw it than its possible for time travel to work but we would have to be the ones to discover it.

Build a flux capacitor. It's what makes time travel possible.

What sounds more likely to me is that the very last thing a time traveller from the future would want to do would be to make his presence known, for fear of changing his present.

So, with their insanely advanced technology, they do come back to study the past (our present), but they do so in energy craft that are almost invisible to us, either because of cloaking or incredibly high speed, and there are occasions where, despite all their efforts to hide themselves, we do see a glimpse, nothing more, and that is what we call "UFO"'s today.

They're not aliens, they're tons of people from the future, taking their time travel machines to the past (our present).

awesome interviews... i sooo dont believe it but there well written.

Yeah, but thus far we've only been able to reach about .002x the speed of light. So we've got a long ways to go.

i seriously doubt that time travel is possible. it just doesn't seem like it.

but, if Einstein said it is possible, then i'll agree with him.

I'd tell you the answer, but I am sworn by a confidentiality agreement.
