Well in my opinion, a viral site is not suddenly gonna split the first 6 movies into 2 timelines. Especially with DOFP, there will be a couple of separate timelines due to time travel. And the viral site's timeline is not really essential, and as if we are gonna see that in the movie. There's probably more experimentation and test subjects to stop the mutants that happened before the original trilogy that we don't know of.

This movie doesn't need to confuse its audience by telling us we have already seen 2 timelines all along even before DOFp starts rolling in theaters.

So Charles didn't keep his school open for very long then...

And as I'd thought they are gonna be jumping between the future & past as the film progresses (like they did with the book), with the 'new' future not set until Wolverine's mind returns to the future. I figure many of the principles in that future will be toast by then but that does suggest that Wolverine and those in control his time travelling mind have to survive at least up to that point of return?

Once he is back, being the 'observer', the new timeline will present itself to him alone with the future events we've witnessed erased.

If so my dream of seeing Logan fried by a Sentinel will have to remain that.

Looks like it. Being the future it'd figure they have sorted a more compact version of Cerebro for him to use (probably has a more limited range, maybe used for the apparent Rogue rescue scene)

So anywhere between 30-40 minutes in the future.

My guess is we're going to be left with Wolverine and Rogue, bringing things full circle, while the other X-Men die trying ensure their survival. That should make for some nice moments, if they play it right.

Me, too. I imagine there will be a pretty powerful scene between Stewart and McKellen, as well. I think whoever guessed Magneto sacrifices himself to save Xavier is right. I'm just curious to know whether or not Xavier survives or if both men die fighting for mutant kind, leaving only Wolverine and Rogue alive in the end, similar to Kitty and Rachel in the books.

Didn't Ellen go back to film something with jackman at the end, Maybe it won't be rogue whose left with wolverine but kitty

As for magneto and xavier, its possible magneto will sacrifice himself so bobby and rogue can get away and no I don't mean YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

I like that Singer is trying something new/different with the concept of time travel. I still want an in-movie explanation as to how Kitty's phasing abilities can be used for time travel.

So if this is true, will the altered timeline have Logan unaware of the past, have a twitch and OT/PAST Logan returns to his body? Will original 70s Logan remember the events of DOFP ? And then what does he remember up to 2023 in the altered timeline?

Logan's the observer so sounds like he will probably be the only one to remember, that's my guess

Right so my question is, what does he remember from 1973-2023 after his mind returns to his future body? Does he have two sets of memories? Curious.

Just guessing here but I think when he returns he might have a 'Butterfly effect' montage type thing with the 'new' memories from the changed timeline imprinting themselves on his returned mind.

After a brief moment of confusion he'll be all caught up maybe giving Rogue a cheesy grin...or something.

So in theory by the end of DOFP he might indeed have 2 sets of memories. The first being all the original timeline and OT stuff, the second being everything from the point the past was changed.

I love how they still worked in the fact that Mystique is the assassin a la the comics :) and also that Singer set up certain rules for the time travel element!

All this talk about Sinister cloning Cyclops and Jean said what I was right about to say. If they don't come back immediately in the new timeline, I can see them returning in a sequel.

Also, there has to be a reason why Cable is able to appear in X-Force and in Jeff Wadlow's own words, Colossus was never an X-Man, not to mention Psylocke still being alive and Deadpool being able to talk. That kind of means that a TON of stuff is changing this time around.

Then when you consider that Wolverine interacts with Stryker, that means that XMO and X2 would have to turn out differently. Wolverine isn't the kind of guy who's going to encounter the man responsible for the death of Jean and then do nothing to change it. This kind of means that Jean never died in the new timeline or Wolverine never manages to get any sort of revenge and simply lets him walk.

it would make more sense for logans role to see what his life was like before he lost his memory as its more interesting for his character, to mind swap to a younger still memory lost self seems kinda lazy story telling wise

wolverine could kill stryker but that could effect alot of things

I know some are saying other wise but I just can't see how when this movie is done it will still be able to lead into the OT.
