I would much prefer that once he becomes Thing, he stays that way.....I still haven't, and probably never will see this actor as Ben. Just not there...

Me too. It's like hearing some poster in the X-threads mention wanting Cyclops to have some control over his power. It's counter to the actual character when they've been defined by that disability for the vast majority of their existence.

I think the problem with characters like the Thing and Beast is when they are in full costume/cgi you cant reallly tell it is the actor playing them, at least with Hulk and Beast in X3 you can tell. Whereas with Thing in particular this actor is going to want face time at some point.
With Cyclops I think its more because filmmakers dont like not being able to see the eyes as they convey the emotion, so some people are offering his visor as a solution to making him the leader haha

What I like about this Thing is that he LOOKS like he could go toe to toe with the likes of the Hulk and Thor, he looks unstoppable and imposing which, despite liking the actor in the role, the old one didn't.

If giving them face time is because the actor wants his/her face onscreen for a good amount of time, then find another actor.

I don't, however, think that that is this particular actors problem, and his looks as full on human are not what got him this job, so I would venture to say he will spend a good amount of time as Thing, unless they are going to be cheap on his cgi as well.

Agreed.....and I actually liked the actor a lot less after his commentary from the first movie. He came off as a whiney little actor, and that turned me off of Chiklis in a big way.

Yeah, Bell has played three CGI characters now and has his own tv show. Doubt he cares about having his face shown.

What did he whine about?

I didn't really take notice of that, I just liked his performances in the movies, but this Thing actually looks imposing and something that could take on other heavy hitters from other movies.

The poster shows off his behemoth size well too

HE WAS THE ONE, that wanted a suit rather than mostly cgi, HE WANTED the suit the entire time instead of mostly cgi....HE SAID he would not take the role unless it was a suit with him in it......and then went on to bellyache about it throughout the commentary.

So, my thought was........careful what you wish for, you may get it, and when you do, shut up and take it.

I am one of those fans that are very much respectful of those that do their own stunts, and I favor actors that do just that.....but, I DO NOT like it when they ***** about them. THAT, I do not respect.

Ah yes I remember now, but I still liked him in the role. But they have done the right thing this time in making the Thing CGI.

I thought he was perfect for the role, had the voice down etc....but the suit looked horrible...and there was absolutely nothing menacing about him at all.

Agree 100%. I am really looking forward to seeing what this Thing is capable of. There must be plenty of stuff not in the trailer.

I really hope he says it...

I do as well, but don't hold your breath.

I bet you he says it while he's on the baseball field early in the movie.

Well, actually they are using more from UFF, and he is much, much larger than everyone else in the UFF series.
Thing seems pretty large in modern FF too.

Would kill for a scene like this in a FF movie

That pic is from the MK Fantastic Four series, not the original.

My favorite of the FF series... :)

not mine either - I was of course referring to the real FF - the Kirby FF...

My problems with UFF are not really in the look of the 4, or even the look of Doom....as much as it is the stories themselves. Not big on Zombie F4, etc...just not really great story telling. My fav is the MK, which is probably why I'm not overly upset about the changes from 616.

I'm cool with the size in the movie...looks VERY FORMIDABLE...the shot jumping from the plane is was very cool IMO.
