When it comes to large scale, blockbuster event movies...yes. You can only have 1 of them on one date.

Eh, that's 'cause companies have no balls.

So you'd much rather have this system where two blockbuster movies must compete on the same date, whereby if one doesn't completely destroy the other at the box office, you get two underperforming movies?

Yeah, that's much better than simply spacing two major releases further apart, so both studio's can enjoy big openings...


That said, I'm glad JLA is postponed/cancelled. This film needed a LOT more thought, reflection, creativity. As it was, it was being rushed through production à la X-Men 3, with an abysmal (rumoured) cast, without a vision to speak of, save for the idea "potential cash cow". They need to release at least two more Batman movies (TDK and sequel) and at least one more Superman movie (either by Singer or someone else) before they should even consider doing the JLA. Establish several succesful franchises, then start building on foundations layed by them.

WB seem hell bent on releasing this film regardless of strikes or casting problems, that sort of approach should make everyone nervous.

very nervous...

If WB is getting a new president, from a PR standpoint it makes perfect sense. Stockholders may be skeptical or nervous about the change in leadership, and WB can flood the media with news on major projects like JLA to put a positive spin on things that are happening with-in the company.

sure thier has but you ppl won't freakin stop bringing it down at every chance you get. JLA is going to have a good director at the helm, a great effects team like WETA at the helm, a cast that we know of so far that includes adam brody as flash which is good co's flash is young as is A.B & flash has a good sense of humour as does A.B. It has Common which is good for some reason, I still don't get it but yet most do, so....WTF? apart from that why bring down this movie when no one here knows the facts?. One person makes a thread about the impending apocolypse that this movie will bring & ppl go into a panic & start cussing the very day a JLA movie was mentioned. Just chill the F*** out & enjoy the ride ppl.
