I think Justice League may be coming unraveled...

I really hope things are coming "unraveled", whatever that means...because this movie is a bad idea. Big summer blockbuster money-making machine? Of course. Good movie? I highly doubt it.

Scrap this project and come back to it in 10 years.

At some point before the world ends, yes. Near future? No. They need to restart Superman and I think theyll figure that out soon enough.

True, but not all are expensive as this and usually have much more bankable casts.

well, obviously if it gets greenlighted and or filmed and released, Ill be wrong.

I dont know what Im talking about? Rubinov dont run ****, they have a board that vote; a group of executives.

They wanted this to be a major project and the budget blew up just like Batman and Supermans did. The problem is, the cast was horrible. Not a single name, let alone a bankable actor or star so the executives had no faith in the film whatsoever. For w.b., Budgets are not a problem. They have shown it over and over again, if they have faith in the matirial theyll spend the money, period. They just didnt have faith in this.

Buggs quit making yourself look stupid. This is the exact same thing that happened Batman VS Superman, Superman Lives, Batman Year one, ect.

If I had to seriousyly guess I would say they ultra rush a superman movie with routh as the star out for next July 2009 because they simply have no films for 2009.

Exactly. People in here act like that it would have been improssible to get at least B grade actors for this project because of the price tag.....but good actors take PAY CUTS to be involved in a GOOD well written films ALL the time in Hollywood.

Yea that is true, but the thing is we dont really know if the studio wanted c/d actors or if it was miller and the true reason they were looking at people like that instead of better/more experienced ones.

That's true when those actors has a relationship with the ones that are producing or directing the film, or if there is a well renowed writer. Seriously though, I don't think WB wanted A-list actors.

Yea the main reason they probably dont want A listers is to keep the pay down on the actors and for the film.

No one was talking about Will Smith for Lantern and Zeta Jones for WW... but damn can you give me a Ryan Renolds for Flash? Can you give me a Ryan Gosling or someone on that level for Batman? That's not undoable...

Well they really don't need them. However if they can get Bale & Routh, a big time B-list actor/actress for MM & WW, then you can go with familar faces that me be considered B- or C listed actors for the remaining cast like GL, Flash, Aquaman, Hawkman, etc if they desire that many characters.

I do think they need a real A-List actor(s) as the villain(s).

Right, I agree, that was my point... I don't think WB wanted A-List actors for this version they were going to do.

yea if there isnt any Alister for hero roles a villain should be an a lister would be a good way to pull general audiences in and what not.

One things for sure... Spacey won't be coming back as Lex in a JLA effort... nor will any Nolan villains... so if they go Talia they need a bigger name in there... first of all they should be going with veteran actors for the heroes so I could live with a girl in her thirties playing Talia... so give me someone a little below an Angelina Jolie (in popularity level) without going into Jessica Alba territory... or if they go young... give me a good young up and coming actress that everyone knows about already... and you'd probably need a Bruce Willis type name for Maxwell Lord...

No one is saying that it had to be A list. Getting a B group of actors would be plausible though. I'll give you an example.....

Superman- Routh or maybe Duhamel
Batman- Bale
WW- Biel (a B grade actor) or say C graders MW, Monica Dean or Gale
Wally West- Ryan Reynolds (who wants or wanted to play Flash) or Gosling
GL Hal Jordan- Nathan Fillion or John Stewart- Terance Howard or Morris Chestnut
Aquaman- Ryan Gosling or Josh Holloway
MM- Dennis Haysbert with CGI

Maxwell Lord (if character remains in updated script) Jonathyn Rhys Myers or how about Jim Caviezel

Talia-Kate Beckinsale

Plus you never know in a script update Darkseid maybe involved someway.

Remember, this is just an EXAMPLE of a way to get a mix of solid B listers to surround Bale and in some instances maybe a few C listers mixed with B listers.

There IS a way to get a better group of actors to be in an ensemble JL film than that ridiculous group of actors they were going to toss out there with Miller directing.

Apparently they tried getting Reynolds. He read the script but after reading it he said it wasn't for him. Interesting since Reynolds has expressed interest in playing that character. One can argue that perhaps he didn't want to appear in a team-up film and thats the reason he turned it down. However, why even bother reading the script if he knew that was the conclusion he would come to. Plus, Dobkins, the director of the Flash, stated his movie would be an offshoot of JLA. So Reynolds would have gotten his chance to be solo as well, not say like the character of WW. So, there was something about this project that Reynolds didn't like and made him back out.

Again, I know, that was the point I was making. WB don't want, and none will play that roll, with this version they were going to do, unless possibly, they have some kind of relationship with key people.

That's all I was saying.... A-listers or really good actors. geeez

I hear you FaT, but that under the guise of this version of JL, which I think, has been trashed. I'm contemplating a completely different version. I think that why we may not be seeing eye-to-eye on this.

This version, as far as I'm concern is done.... thankfully.

Forget Renolds... I was just trying to make a point... you need B-listers in these roles... or if you go with lesser knows... give me veteran actors that have been in this business and know wtf they are doing... getting the OC cast to round out your JLA cast isn't going to get it done... and that's exactly what happened with this project... the idea that going young leaves you open to potential sequels is NONSENSE... are we getting MOS yet? Yeah I am looking forward to Bosworth coming back as Lois.... since she owned that role  ... please... you need to get it right first...

Wow....then how big was the freakin X-Men budget??

They had people who were or are considered A listers in those films....

Jackman
McKellen
Berry
Stewart

The rest were B listers

Famke
Paquin
Cumming
Jones
Marsden

Those films did make a profit no matter how garbage the 3rd film was. So I think getting a cast like the one I mentioned is VERY realistic, especially when you look at the cast the X-Men films got. Come on....

The problem was the freakin script, story and crappy casting.

Bale didn't like the characterization of Batman and the timing was off for him to even consider it.

Biel probably didn't like the script and the other fact that garbage actors were going to surround her.

Reynolds probably didn't like the script either.

Couldn't agree with you more. Just worry about getting this movie right, right now. I hate when we heard Miller saying he wanted to cast young so that the actors can grow in their roles. We may not even get that far!! Get the best fit now, and worry about sequels later, if we even get that far.

Jackman was not an A-List actor and Berry was an A- or B+ actress.

You B list are really C-Listers except maybe Famke.

Jackman was an A lister in Australia! haha

Seriously....it depends what you consider a B lister.

Berry was an A lister because she won a freakin Oscar for a sex romp scene and she was all over those silly mags and became overexposed.

Winning an oscar does not make you an A-lister... it the amount of money you can demand for the complement size film.

Jackman.... come on, no one really knew him, but was lucky because he fit the part.
