Huh I never even realized that was a thing. Now I know what that PKRS thing meant. :funny:

I'm going to check out my Pokemon Ruby right now and see if someone on my team had that. Talk about oblivious on my part.

That's weird. Never happened in the other games. I hope it isn't something new in this game. Are you sure it's the correct egg group?

I've figured it out. The "they don't seem to get along" thing is a 20% chance of an egg. She needs a man from another trainer to get her in the mood. All my guys have been friendzoned. :csad:

Oh yeah :( A traded Pokemon will get her in the mood or even a male from the Fennekin line. If you had a Ditto, you can try to breed a male Fennekin.

Same species, different ID=high chances of an egg
Same species, same ID="seem to get along", moderate to high chances of an egg
Different species, different ID="seem to get along", moderate to high chances of an egg
Different species, same ID="don't seem to get along, low chances of an egg
Different egg groups="don't get along at all", no eggs

This game is feeling a bit too easy. The new EXP Share makes it so I don't really have to grind to get my Pokemon to the right levels. My Pangoro has such high Attack that he' one hitting everything he comes into contact with. He rolled through every trainer in the Fairy gym without fainting or running out of moves.

Here's how I look at it. The less I need to grind, the better. So in that sense, the EXP Share is a godsend. I find grinding kinda annoying.

However, the difficulty needs to be amped up so that the opponents have varied and different strategies to outsmart you. Since it's also aimed at kids, a higher difficulty level right from the beginning needs to be implemented.

Is this a satisfying compromise?

Just beat the elite four. I'm having fun with this gen for sure but a few things have bothered me.

# Elite four members served no other role. With what flare was planning, the E4 should of been more prominent.

# Flare needed more interesting characters. Except for their boss the flare members weren't memorable.

# I didn't like the roster on most Gym leaders, flare members and E4

but I have to say the pro's in this game out weigh the bad, at least for me.

# like the starters, better than unova.

# player customization is a great start and hopefully gets more fleshed out with each generation.

# I feel overall the new pokes are better than unova's as well.

# The story needed to be fleshed out; especially flare boss/scientist and AZ. But overall it was a good story and darker than expected.

I agree. the Champion, for instance, should've at least got more involved. Someone should've, at least when the Flare Boss got exposed. Unless maybe things went too fast when everything happened.

One thing I dislike is your rival is a pushover. I feel bad beating her because she looks so upset, but she also doesn't learn. Her team is 3-deep with lousy type coverage. Compare that to Red and Blue where I dreaded facing Gary. They should have had her use the other Fossil Pokemon and other Kanto starter.

I just had my 1st online battle!

I beat a guy who used both a Mega Pokémon and a Legendary, while I only used two of mine, and didn't use any Legendary of my own, nor my Mega Pokémon.

:woot:

Yeah I liked Serena but she never used her starter when she should've. It was always Meowstic, and like you said Spidey it was always three-deep until the end. She said in the game she's the daughter of two elite trainers, how does she not get six Pokémon?

Also this was the closest thing we've had to a "love interest" in a Pokémon video game. So it was nice but I wish she would've been tougher.

I agree. I didn't mind about his/her atittude and stuff, but they were easy, and my Pokemon were underlevelled.

Wow, that's great and really crazy :awesome: Online battles must feel so nice.

I'm not very far, but yeah, I am sort of surprised with how easy it feels. Part of it is the exp share, but even without that it seems my Pokemon level up a lot faster than I remember in the older games. Though, saying that, the second gym level nearly kicked my ass. Even though most of my Pokemon were at least 7 levels above his, those Rock Throw moves ****ed me up.

I don't really find it that easy, it seems about the same level as the last few. I've never been able to tell if it was just the games getting easier or me getting better :o

The Exp Share + the Battle Chateau does make levelling up ridiculously easy though, I'll give people that. I'm about to head into my last badge and all my Pokémon are Level 87 :funny:

I loved the EXP. Share, it made my game honestly. I usually always trained one or two Pokémon so I wouldn't grind that much (until B&W 2 came along that is) but with X I got to level up my Pokémon with no time cost other than what I put into it.

By the time I met the elite four my Greninja was level 80, Charizard 72, Xerneas 64, Talonflame 68, Tyranitum 66 and Krookidile 65, and it was because they were so high leveled that I won.

And now that I know about the beauty of Wonder Trade I can use EXP. Share to get my dream Pokémon team up to snuff to challenge people. Can't wait.

Guys and Gals, I havent played since Fire Red and Leaf Green, will I like this new one, im debating buying a DS and the game. Mind you the last time I got FULLY invested was Soul Silver, how I miss that game, but i'd be willing to if this was that good. Thoughts?

Yeah, EXP share does take off some of the challenge, I admit, but I do love that I can level up certain Pokemon without having to grind.

The last ones I played was Gold and Silver (Not SoulSilver and HeartGold, mind you, the actual Gold and Silver on the GBC). I'm loving X myself, it's been great. It's pretty familiar, but it feels pretty new and fresh to me. I'm glad I picked it up.

I said Soul Silver but I meant just Silver for the GBC, that was my last true investment in a pokemon game.

Oh well, then you and me are in the same boat then haha. I've really enjoyed it a lot, I've jumped right back into it. I'll sit down only thinking to play for half an hour and end up playing for twice as long or more. It's pretty nostalgic, too, lots of Gen 1 & 2 Pokemon from the get go, too.

Sounds awesome, plus i hear cool things about these megas.

The story isn't too thrilling but it feels like a nice adventure, and more importantly, the game plays like a gem. The battles are quite fast too, despite the frame rate. Almost everything feels smooth and streamlined.
