Pokémon It's the Pokemon thread - Part 2

Personally I'm waiting for Nintendo to make a Pokémon Console game that's just as epic as the handhelds but does things that the handhelds can't.

Here's my idea.

I think people have been waiting for this since Pokemon Red and Blue (and Green, if you're Japanese). I don't know why they never have. I know they made a GC game that was close, but I seem to remember it wasn't quite what many expected.

I think they just didn't know how to do it. And back then you couldn't. That's why I want Bethesda in it because they understand the concept of a large open-world game and they know how to fill a game with content which is what this is all about.

Pokémon Coliseum and Gale of Darkness (those were the games you were thinking of) were really good. I played them both and loved them both.

The problem was that they were really restrictive. You could only capture "Shadow" Pokémon which made you lose the randomness that the handhelds flaunted. Also there was a lot less you could do in those games which angered some fans.

Pokémon World (my idea) eliminates that problem, brings back the things that made the handhelds epic but also adds new twists like the open world, free flow combat, tons and tons of content and probably some really good graphics.

I really want to work at Nintendo someday and if I do this will be one of the ideas I show to them.

Hate to break it to you, bro, but you are neither the first nor only person to have that idea.

Never said I was. I was just referencing the title. I know I'm not the only person to have this idea. But to my knowledge I'm one of the few who's wrote it out and posted it out. That blog is one of my most popular on IGN and I've gotten all sorts of comments telling me that people had thought about but never wrote it and were happy I did.

That's all.

New gameplay trailer. They show off that panda dudes fully evolved form. Looks awesome!!!!

That giant squid looking Pokemon seems pretty cool too. I wonder what it's typing is. Evolved Pancham is #1 on my new catch list though.

I think the article on Kotaku said it was Dark/Psychic. I really don't get why they're doing such weird or stupid designs with these newer typings. Why does a Dark/Psychic look like a squid? Design-wise, it's fine but it looks more like Water and Psychic/Dark/Poison. And the Ghost/Steel, again, I first picture a spectre in a suit of armor, not an anthropomorphic sword.

Last gen had similar ones. Dark/Fighting, I think of maybe a luchador because of the mask, instead we get Scraggy and Scrafty which are holding up their pants...

All right, so for those keeping score at home, lets now look at the new info and compare it to the info our mysterious leaker spoiled months ago.

Pancahm would evolve into a Pokémon called Pangoro (confirmed)
Draining Kiss was a Fairy-type move (confirmed)

  • It would restore the exact amount of HP it steals (yet to be seen)
Xerneas would be a Fairy-type (confirmed)
Yveltal would be Dark (confirmed)
The professor's English name would be Sycamore (confirmed)
There would be two evil organizations; Team Base & Team Acid (FALSE)

I love the cape thing he's got going on.

I think its supposed to be the tail end of a duster or overcoat. There's a sterotypical look that Japanese "tough guy" characters have where they wear a overcoat/duster/etc. like that.

I can see that. But since the black connects at the neck, it looks more like a cape to me. Even if the black also goes down the arms.

Either way, it looks awesome.

My friend was super pumped about the evolved panda. I think it's fine, but I'm not super excited. The game in general, however, will be awesome.

This wouldn't be the 1st time I saw a Pokémon prior to actually being able to play the games that I fell in love with it, only to find out it wasn't my tastes when the games finally were released. Yes, I love that Panda, but I can't say for sure if I'll use it.

Kudos to Game Freak not going the typical route and giving us a rolly-polly, Kung-Fu Panda evolution. We got the unexpected Tokyo youth gang-leader ruffian Panda instead

Apart from the stupid ass sword Pokemon, I've been cool with all the designs so far.

One of the bullet points says we'll be able to see EVs. ****ing finally.

Blast from the Past:

Was digging through some old stuff, getting ready for a move and found my Gameboy Color and a few of the games I still had, including Pokemon Blue, Red, Yellow, Gold and Silver (I think I gave Ruby and Sapphire to my younger brother years ago). Yellow even still had 151 Pokemon. Man, those screens were tiny as hell back then. Nostalgia, nostalgia.

How is the battery not dead? I tried playing my Yellow last month, and it's data is gone, and it can't' save.
