I love how the media jump all over this, first chance they can get. He's doing another project in the interim so clearly he's "quitting". And then they get more interest by drumming up the hunt for the next Bond nonsense.

Those lyrics sound much better. Spectre is a good song title and the whole ghost theme is fitting, so I can't believe they didn't use that but used something as generic and bland as "Writing's on the wall" which doesn't even really fit the theme of the film at all.

So a loose reboot might be on the horizon; bring back Fiennes as M, but recast everone else.

I'd personaly like to see a woman as M again. It balances out Bond misygonistc tendencies. Helen Mirren..?

I don't think M, Q or Moneypenny need to be replaced. Their chemistry together was one of the few things i liked in Spectre.

Craig will, at the very least do Bond 25 and finish the Blofeld arc out. Of that I am assured.


The real question is, does EON keep SPECTRE as an organisation around post-Blofeld and just continuously use them rather than having to keep creating new terrorists or MI6 agents gone bad? While I can see an immediate benefit to that, I wouldn't mind if they actually used some real world politics in the franchise. They tried and failed with Elliot Carver and post-Handover British/Chinese hostilities, but I'd to see someone actually do that right as opposed to the Roger Moore style of having all the villains be pseudo-Blofelds.

I think you could do a bit of both, with Spectre still around, but with other people running it, as a recurrying storyline. While you could go with one-shot adventures in between a la Goldfinger, some of those could resolve around real world politics.

Someone like Blofeld doesn't just get locked away without numerous backup plans in place to extract him. I'd imagine any follow-up would pursue that story.

Just read the article and saw that the Independent gets the story from the Sun, which says it all for me as I know that the Sun is nothing but a lying ****rag.

I hope they don't get replaced, even if Craig is done. George Lazenby and Roger Moore had the same supporting cast as Connery and it worked out well. I like all three in their roles currently.

But he already kind of went rogue in Spectre. And the lyrics of the song with "should I risk it all" seemed to suggest he was putting everything on the line, even though he's done that practically every time since the Brosnan era.

I'm not so keen on Craig either. I'd like a change. And Christoph Waltz said he'd only come back if Craig came back. But if Craig doesn't come back, then maybe we can get a better Blofeld.

I disagree. He was -- once again -- the best part of the film. The film asked him to play Bond more in like with how he traditionally is. And he gave a great Bondian performance.

Totally agree. Just the nonchalance alone of him walking on the roof tops of Mexico City, loading his gun en route to his killing was such a great Bondian moment and there are many more like that in the film. Also he showed a great "Moore-esque" comedic timing in this one. I thought he was great (and not bored or tired at all like some people say)and one of the best things in the film. I hope he comes back at least for one more.

I think Craig is a great Bond... the script was just garbage after the first thirty minutes. There's only so much an actor can do.

There was a youtube video by Honest Trailers about, where they said the action scenes were like Goldeneye on "Agent". That is so hilariously true.

Yeah, the Honest Trailer was pretty spot on. I have faith that the next Bond film will be great. Craig's fifth and final, an odd numbered film in the new continuity, and the 25th of the franchise. It has to be good.

He went rogue in Skyfall when he and M took off to Scotland. Luckily Mallory ended up supporting the idea.

Brosnan went rogue in his last film too.

And it's been "this time it's personal" for every Bond film since Licence to Kill. That was in 1989. That's 26 years of this tired schtick. I prefer the first 26 or so years of Bond to the next 26.

Not at all. More and more it's looking like Bond 25 will be a proper adaptation of You Only Live Twice, and that novel isn't really anything like Licence to Kill or Quantum of Solace. Everything Bond does in that story is under the orders of M and the Japanese Secret Service. In fact the whole thing is given to Bond as a last chance to redeem himself as an agent after his grief nearly makes him useless.

I didn't mind the step-brother angle or the reveal that all the villains in the Craig series were tied to Spectre, although I don't think it really made an impact. The ending was just kind of there, so it didn't leave me wanting more like Skyfall did.

I agree the London ending is rather boring. And Bond and Madeleine waiting around in that Tangier hotel room does drag. But nonetheless, I like the other parts of the film. I find it entertaining.

Agreed. I think there's a difference in Craig seem 'bored' in the film and actually becoming comfortable in the role. This was a Bond who seemed to finally be enjoying what he was doing.
