If he is indeed done I would be very dissappointed. Spectre should not be his swan song.
Yeah, absolutely. The potential of a fifth Craig film is mouthwatering.

I though Spy had a better "Bond" theme than "Spectre" did.

Wel he rode off into the sunset. It was intended to be his exit but with a potential to come make for one more as well

I could see a loose sequel with a new bond

I would love an ending that mirrors the pre credits (the black and white bit) of casino royale personally... great potential to bookend it

Bond, James Bond

I can get behind Aidan Turner as Bond. After Spectre and Daniel Craig clearly wanting out throughout all of the film's promotion, I'm ready for his run to be done. If he comes back, cool. But if not, I'm equally as cool with it.

I was watching Spectre on Blu-ray and realized what lacked in the car chase.

Not enough collision damage. Those cars were so prestine and delicate during the shoot that it was almost impossible to really let loose with them.

They basically danced around Rome.

Aidan Turner does have a resemblance to Timothy Dalton...

It was also lacking in road peril and obstacles. A chase scene isn't just car A chasing car B, but it's also a battle with the road or platform the cars are driven in. They have to escaped or to be used them to their advantage.

I mean, there was a bit of that, but not enough, and certainly not executed in any way that would elicit tension.

Also, pulse-pounding action music was playing while Moneypenny was going through her fridge. I dunno if that was intentional or not. But it was totally jarring and out of place.

There was no suspense during that car chase at all. It was more like a leisurely drive. And Bond spent too much time on the blower with Moneypenny instead of driving for his life.

When Jason Bourne was being chased around Moscow, did he have time to call anyone? Maybe Bond is good at multi-tasking. :o

Despite having really rapid editing, the QOS chase scene before the title sequence is better than this one. There's a scene that feels dangerous. James Bond looks like he is actually engaged with what's happening around him. The vehicles around the road are actually used as perils. And you can't beat that 'release tension' unfolding shot of Sienna.

No kidding. He almost got impaled through the driver side door.

Spectre? No immediate harm in sight

I guess it was supposed to be funny? Like that Italian Fiat driver blocking Bond.

Moneypenny's doing mundane stuff in London while Bond is in a highspeed chase.

Next time they should get cars they can wreck. Not prototype/not on the market yet cars

Also I see that the DB11 is coming out too

So do recast the whole team?

Soft reboot?

Continuation?

I doubt Craig's actually done and this is anything other than tabloid rumours, but if he is then it'd be for the best that they avoid using Blofeld and Spectre.

All these leadup to Spectre (in real life with the rights issues) and only to drop it?

Yes, at least for a while. Depending on how they'd theoretically handle a new Bond actor coming in (full reboot vs classic Bond loose continuity). If it's a full reboot like Casino Royale was then it would be too soon to try and reintroduce them again after having spent so much time setting them up and the whole Oberhuaser connection, and if it was a typical loose follow up...well it doesn't feel right for me to start off a new Bond's tenure with him basically finishing an arc that was designed to close out Daniel Craig's Bond.

Turner looks way too young and un-hardened. They have to find a way to keep the current M, Moneypenny and Q around for longer.

It is a pity that Craig may leave, I have only just gotten used to seeing 007 as blond. After one more film he probably would be getting too old also. So just let him walk if that is what he wants to do.

I wouldn't mind seeing Christian Bale or Clive Standen in the role. Recent comments from Bale seem to indicate that he would have liked to continue as Batman, so maybe he could settle in for a long run as Bond.

I'd really like Turner, but whatever they do, they better not mess up Poldark. I need that show in my life. :argh:

I thought Craig looked rather old in Skyfall. That aspect lent itself to the story, but in Spectre his faced being caked in so much make-up really took me out of some of the scenes....I've never seen a Bond actor age so rapidly i-between two films (QoS and Skyfall)......

The director and the composer where clearly NOT on the same page with that scene. It's clearly meant to be an almost Roger Moore-esque "comedic" chase. Yet the music in that scenes acts like it's the most "serious epic dangerous" car chase ever.

Even the Roger Moore chases are better than that one though and more exciting. Think of the Lotus being chased by the helicopter in TSWLM, or the Citroen 2CV in FYEO. Or the Saab going on the rail tracks in Octopussy. They're all better. That's not even mentioning the ski chases.

The film was also heavily color-timed. All you have to do to see that is to look at Craig's eyes. His piercing blue eyes looked almost grey in some scenes. He looked like a different person.

I have no problem with a look that has a dominant color palette, but do make it natural. This film looked like somebody soaked the negative in urine.
