Never got around to seeing it in the theater but will pick this up

The blue poster is nice, but I wish they used this poster instead:

As for the steelbook, out of the choices they had for covers, they went the worst one: the solo bullet hole logo poster. WTF?

No doubt. I'd much rather that poster be the official poster instead of that bland ugly ass blue poster. But it made a decent blu-ray cover so I won't complain to much about it.

The special features are pathetic tho. A bunch of video blogs that are already available online.

And speaking of the steelbook, I would love to have a steelbook with this image on the front or back:

To be fair, the features for Skyfall sucked nuts too. I hear target is getting an exclusive Bonus dvd with extra features.

Spectre was snubbed majorly at the Baftas. Even QOS got two noms.

If we look at the series, there's only been 4 films out of 24 to actually make more than 200 million in the US, and even the films that the critics, fans and moviegoers all to seemed to enjoy, such as the Spy Who Loved Me, only earned 195 million. Likewise From Russia with Love only took in 192 Million. That such a beloved instalment like that film received a series "typical" return in the domestic market says more about the way the character is perceived in the States than anything else.

Unadjusted only Skyfall made over $200m in the U.S., but adjusted 13 films have, not four. Spectre should make it 14, which is it's rank - 14th out of 25.

Skyfall has two seperate commentaries ( Director and one with the producers) and ~ 1 hour of making of videos.. I'd call that pretty decent.

But dont get me wrong.. I would watch 3 hours of making of videos when they are well put together :) like for example the Prometheus Collectors Edition is just awesome.. just the making-of documentation alone is 3 hours and 40minutes and so good

At least, "The Writing's On The Wall" won a Golden Globe.

Finally got round to seeing Spectre.

Overall I liked it. The acting was top notch throughout, and Craig seems to have relaxed (even more) into the role and character than in previous films. The score was good, cinematography excellent, and there were some superb set pieces such as the car chase through Rome.

I don't think the storyline had quite the same emotional impact as Skyfall, despite this one supposedly being based around the notion of Bond/Blofeld as step-brothers in a way. I think part of that stemmed from the dialogue they wrote for Blofeld; almost every line uttered by Waltz was done so in a calm, cold and calculated way. I'd liked to have seem him (or Bond) get a little emotional; after all, this is the man whose presence led him to murder his own father and indirectly set his path for life, leading to the formation of Spectre. I think Blofeld losing his temper and showing some some of the seething hatred he has for Bond might have helped deliver some of that emotion.

Skyfall was a little shorter than Spectre, though both still clock in at well over 2hrs. Nevertheless, Skyfall to me feels like a more condensed film. I think there were too many location pieces in Spectre and it felt slightly overlong; they could probably have reduced these and condensed the film into a more intense package about 15-20 mins shorter than what we got.

I must add, I loved Hinx as a villain. Physically imposing and memorable, his brutal fight scene with Bond on the train was one of the few times in the film where I genuinely could believe Bond was outmatched and in danger. Indeed, if not for Swann, he would have been dead. Hinx seemingly fell to his death but given his size and resilience (he shrugged off a gunshot wound to the arm like it was nothing, not to mention being ejected throught the front window of the Range Rover), it wouldn't be a shock if he survived somehow. I'd like to see him as a recurring villain much like how Jaws used to pop up in the Roger Moore films; an imposing killer for hire with a personal grudge because of his unfinished business against Bond.

My one and major gripe with Spectre wasn't really to do with Spectre at all, it was more to do with the overall arc of the last 4 films. In Casino Royale, Bond fell hook, line and sinker for Vesper Lynd and submitted his resignation to M. Of course, by the end of the film she's dead and he's back working for Mi6. In Quantum of Solace, M has Bond arrested for disobeying orders. In Skyfall, Bond again 'leaves' his job (by pretending to be dead for 3 months) only to return to London when Mi6 HQ is attacked. And in Spectre, the film seemingly ends with Bond leaving his job again.

It just seems slightly out of sync to me that a character who's so seemingly dedicated to serving his Queen & country should effectively resign/retire 3 times in the course of 4 films. And that when he's asked by Swann would he happen if he left, he should already know the answer as he's done it twice before. It also loses any impact as I'm sure we all fully believe that he'll be back working for Mi6 in the next film anyway.

Honest Trailer: Spectre

So, no word on DC returning? The turn around of Bond films seems to be pretty short for a franchise so i suspect we'll hear somethig about what's going on with the franchise soon…

They tore into Skyfall as well. The only films they go easy on are Marvel films for some reason. Definite bias obviously.

If you have enough time on your hands (which these guys obviously do), you can mock pretty much any film and make them look silly.

Well it looks like any chances of Dan Stevens as Bond are gone.

He just accepted a role in "Legion" for Fox's x-men series

DAVID (Dan Stevens) - Diagnosed as schizophrenic at a young age, David is a haunted man, trying to find his way back to sanity, but he's getting tired and is about to give up when he meets the girl of his dreams.

I really like Lucifer's Tom Ellis, he'd be different and fits more into the Flemming type.

You say that as if the Honest Trailer guys aren't paid to do that.

To be honest, spectre is non existent now.. not much hype, buzz, no one is really going over drive with it, it's forgettable. Sadly.

Time to recast, different direction.

Actually, the plot points Honest Trailers criticized in both aren't annoying nitpicks that somebody took too much time carrying out (like CinemaSins). They are glaringly obvious. The difference is that a good film can cause the audience to overlook plot conveniences and holes. Hence, the overall reception of Skyfall versus Spectre.

Cinema Sins and Honest Trailers really need to go away honestly.
