James Bond: 007 - Spectre - Part 5

Probably more open arrogance than Craig.
I guess so. Would it be good or bad?

I believe he will bring something else to the table as well:
Either with an effeminate touch but still a dangerous spy, or like a total lunatic with a psychotic stare. He can do both!

EDIT Isn't Patrick Bateman (played by Bale) a combination of those traits?
Just tone down the Bateman craziness.

Dan Stevens as the next Bond. Simple as.

And Mark Wahlberg or Elijah Wood as Bond? You're having a ****ing bubble ain't ya? lol

Emily Blunt as the next Bond for me.

That should shake things up a bit.

Well, Bond's always had a measure of arrogance and cruelty, but the question is whether he could capture the vulnerability and more more heroic aspects of Bond's character. I can't really speak to JRM's range as I've only ever seen him at length in The Tudors.

I'd take Blunt over Wood or Wahlberg any day of the week.

Thing is, what would her first name be? June Bond? Jenny Bond? Jemma Bond?

But there are some American actors that over the years could have played the role. Adam West, Burt Reynolds or Robert Redford would all have nailed it. Take my word!

Somebody invent a time machine so we can make this happen.

What about Velvet Goldmine, M:I, Matchpoint?

Would it really be needed for JRM to be both cruel, violent, vulnerable and a true hero at the same time? I don't think it would be a good idea to just have him as a clone of Craig or any of the previous.

Replacing Lazenby in Diamonds Are Forever, then play the role well into the 80s.
West is like the American Roger Moore.

I'd go with Jane Bond. She can pull off the action and the comedy, she can play a tough female character with ease I would imagine.

Wood or Wahlberg, er no.

Have her play Agent XXX in a future movie , and then spin it off into its own franchise.

Well, he's got to have traits that are recognizable as James Bond, otherwise you just have a random spy caricature, and him having similar traits to past portrayals doesn't make him a clone, anymore than Michael Keaton's Batman was a clone from Christian Bale's Batman.

I see your point :)
What about a snobbish Bond again? Has Craig totally taken away that route?
I see a possibility for 007 to be both ruthless and elegant with good manners. But who knows what the future will bring.

I can't believe there was someone here who brought up Elijah Wood as James Bond and was serious about it. I love the internet.

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was fantastic as Steerpike in Gormenghast.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers has a ton of personal problems (alcohol addiction/attempted suicide) that he is working through but I wouldn't mind seeing him as a Bond villain when he is better.

But I'll admit that, in that list, Lee Pace would be a decent Bond if they went with an American actor.

I still think Tumblr hasn't caught on to Lee since he is American; otherwise, he's like the STATE's version of Tom Hiddleston.

^ What's wrong with Elijah Wood?

He's a tiny little guy, he has a very soft borderline effeminate appearance, voice, and general manner about him where I don't think anyone could take him as anything but absurdly miscast as a badass super spy.

Frankly, there are Bond girls far more believably tough than Elijah Wood

Elijah "Sin City" Wood could easily be a Bond villain, if not a titlerole.

Sin City didn't prove much. He didn't have a single word to say and the lighting and effects had as much to do with him looking creepy as anything.

I had a crush on him in the LOTR days, but he's not that much of an actor.

IOW, the only reason he can't be Bond is because of typecasting. Good to see people thinking rationally. :o

like a Bond villain role requires some acting chops. :yay:

okey, he could be one of henchmen then, not the main baddie.:cwink:
