I asked on of the Mods about getting a Bond section up and running and was told there use to be one but people complained because Bond isn't a comic book character. I like many could talk all day about Bond, been a huge fan since I was about 10. :(

Does seem a bit strange, especially when you consider that JB had a comic strip that ran from 1958 to 1983 in several newspapers, both in the U.K. and abroad. People may have complained that Bond is a movie character not a comic book character but the strip pre-dates Dr.No [the movie] by 4 years and at its most basic, Bond is 1st and foremost a literary character.

Bond has all the regular properties of a comic book character. Comics, novels, video games and of course movies. Then the soundtracks associated with the movies.

I hope we get a title announced soon. That would tide me over for a little while.

Could we not ask the mods to put it to a vote again? I'm pretty sure the results would be different after Skyfall.

Like I said, Bond IS a superhero in his own right.

Things shouldn't be defined by just comics.

It'll be hard to top Javier Bardem, the most memorable Bond villain in a very long time. Maybe a female villain is the right way to go.

Yeah There was one when CR was filming at the time, I would like to see return of 007 forum.

Silva was probably the best since Sanchez 25 years ago. I do think Sanchez was better. At the very least Silva was the best since Trevelyan.

It'll be interesting to see what type of villain they go for this time around.
It will. Le Chiffre was a desperate man made to do desperate things. Greene was another link in the Quantum chain like Le Chiffre, but in a position to take some initiative. With Silva we had the bitter old agent who did have mastermind qualities, but was his own boss. Perhaps this time another mastermind - a female one - who controls an empire and with no connection to Bond or MI6.

Or a female who's the leader of Quantum. Sort of in a Blofeld role, but still quite different (beyond simply being a woman).

I wonder if a Cabal of assassins and agents made up of rogue operatives from various secret service agencies who have came together as mercenary force in espionage could work. Whatever route they go I'd love to see Lee Byung-Hun as a Bond villain.

I'm kind of hoping a combination of more Quantum and a "singular mastermind" villain at work. Maybe said villain completely back stabs Quantum and destroys it and therefore having a one and one face off with Bond.

That would be neat. I know my description is simple but it could be more elaborate than that.

So basically...Revolver Ocelot :p

I think Sanchez was a reasonable attempt at a more grounded Bond villain. He still had the conventional evil motif, in the form of his pet lizard, but his motives and persona were not very fantastical.

Sanchez was great. LTK also had Benicio Del Toro as Sanchez's right hand man.

LTK is under rated. I think it would've been better accepted now than back then where it was too much of a departure from the Roger Moore movies. Also, it opened in a crowded summer against Batman, Indiana Jones 3, Ghostbusters 2, Lethal Weapon 2, Star Trek 5, Karate Kid 3, Honey I Shrunk the Kids and other non-franchise but critically acclaimed films like Dead Poets Society. That was just around that month too, as there were a ton of other films that year.
