Rumor has it Adele will be doing the new James Bond theme song. Rumor has it, owwwwh!

In all seriousness, shame you guys spoiled yourself on the song. I make sure to get the full effect of the chosen theme during the film's opening titles upon my first time watching. I did this with "You Know My Name" for Casino Royale and the same with "Another Way To Die" for Quantum Of Solace.

The last time I did that was with A View To A Kill. I didn't know what to expect for the title sequence, and when I heard it I thought "hey, why are they using this song "Dance into the fire" that was in the charts recently?"

The song is ok, will probably grow on me and I will end up liking it more, but it looks like it is going to be a long time before we get something as good as "You Know My Name" again.

far, far better than the QoS theme (even though i liked that one)

I get the feeling that Bond will probably get shot and then fall into the water, and begin sinking, at which point the piano will start playing of this theme. It seems to fit with a drowning feel at the beginning.

Yeah, I thought that before but this just adds to that feeling.

Mate, I already posted the official song.

Okay I must have originally heard a bad version of the theme cause I take back anything negative I said about it. That's a damn good theme.

Still have not heard the song. Don't like Adele so I'll hear it in the movie or if it shows up in some sort of commercial before then.

So I need to ask: has the gun barrel scene been discussed at all? Will we see it at the opening, or will Skyfall continue the QoS tradition and keep it till the end?

A little improvement over the radio cut but the same problems still persist. That background chorus sucks.

The song is amazing in full.

Yeah. Its a great Bond song. Adele sings very well I can't wait hear it on the big screen. I like how you can hear The James Bond Theme in the background

I like the relaxed, cool vibe the song has. Despite the criticisms people may have of the song, I'd say it has a mostly positive reputation in the general public, and I don't think that can be said for AWTD.

What is a great Bond song? Is that a way of saying it isn't a great song in general? Because the best Bond songs are.

It sounds like a mix of Diamonds Are Forever and The World Is Not Enough, which is good... but a lot of people were probably expecting some kind of stand-alone radio hit, which it's not.

I love it though the background chorus was my not my cu of tea. But it didn't ruin the song.

Gunbarrel is confirmed as returning. In the recent Bond on Set book, there are photos of Craig shooting the new sequence. Supposedly,

It's a classic style gunbarrel with white background and all. Craig-Bond is wearing a suit, not a tux. Which is what was standard until Roger Moore's gunbarrel in TSWLM. Interestingly, he is also supposedly not wearing a tie and his gunbarrel pose is similar to Dalton's.

They dropped the ball by using The Bond Theme. Each film has its own musical identity. And the Song almost always uses the film's theme as its instrumental. This is something John Barry made as a rule going back to Goldfinger. So, I don't know whose bright idea it was to diss Thomas Newman. If they didn't want to use Newman's composition then they should have created their own instead of taking the lazy route.
