I am a fan of Nolan and his Bat films but I am kinda tired of every movie now a days trying to copy them in some way. Its like every movie now has to be grim, gritty, serious etc.

Skyfall is the only film in four years that was directly influenced by it. Nothing else was; certainly not comic book films.

And Even then, Nolan's batman film's owe a lot to Bond anyway. Either way, SF is regarded as being a quintessential Bond movie through and through. King James is back with his crown firmly on his head and his rosy red cushioned nicely on the throne.

My thoughts :

It's a fun game - which it set out to be...but it's not as good as Goldeneye Reloaded, nor is it something special. It's good, but not great.

Wow, I read everything with ChickenScratch a few pages ago. I'm just going to bypass everything that he's said (even though his opinion is all wrong and misguided) since it's a few pages after, and remind him that he's still in the James Bond movie thread, which is more about the James Bond movies than the books (the same problem he had in the Game of Thrones thread). Forcing his pretentious opinions of movies makes me wonder why he is in a thread of movies that he hates and can't stand, and of a genre he doesn't (from the posts I see of him in this thread or other threads) understand, like, or even respect. That comes down to trolling, in which you're making inflammatory comments that arouse angry passions or emotions.

JJ also said that the new Star Trek was influenced by TDK as well. It has to do with quality filmmaking than the visuals.

To me, it sounds more like John Barry than David Arnold. It has more of a pep in its step if that makes any sense. Either way, I like what I'm hearing.
