Jamie Alexander has a Blindspot

If they combined it, it could be called The Blackspot. :o

Or the Blind list, which is what Matt Murdock uses when he goes shopping for groceries.

I don't know. The Blacklist just feels like it should be called "James Spader Upstages Everyone". All of the other actors either suck or aren't given any material to make them remotely interesting.

I know some people here have been hard on the actors on Blindspot other than Jaimie but I feel like everyone is holding their own so far. Some of them could use a little more development but it's still early.

I think Megan Boone easily holds her own with Spader, and Ryan Eggold was really good when Tom became a more enigmatic and damaged character, plus the smaller supporting roles are all pretty decent. All are much better than the paint by numbers co-stars on this show so far IMO.

Do we think it is actually the childhood friend, or is the scar just done deliberately to mess with Weller's head?

i was wondering about that too

i kinda am intrigued by the idea of him blaming himself for the abduction of his childhood friend. i feel like that that is what motivated him into being in the FBI. the introduction of a sister and nephew helps flesh him out a little, and also shows how solitary he lives. the part about
dad being charged with kidnapping/murder of childhood friend
was pretty interesting twist.

i feel like that's why he is so tolerant with Jane. He's atoning for his past

:funny:

WRT Blindspot, I agree with you. It IS early, but, all things considered, I rather like it.

WRT to Blacklist, Spader is just the best actor and it's not even close. I don't know that everyone else really sucks so much as it's tough to be toe to toe with a very refined, talented actor. It makes you look like you kind of "do" suck when maybe you don't. I wouldn't want to be in the same scene as Gary Oldman, because people would probably think I suck too (wait, that's a bad example.....I DO suck). :woot:

Agreed, I thought Megan really broke out during the 2nd season.

The plots do seem rather similar between the two shows though. In one, they get their missions from a list. In the other, they get their missions from transcribed tattoos on Jaime's body.

Aren't they going to run out of tattoos eventually? Then what happens with the rest of the show? Unless they're not going to be deciphering tattoos each week with the waitress saying "hey, I've cracked another one!"

Maybe they should try a show where they get their missions from a tape recorder that self destructs in 5 seconds??? Nahhhhhh.....that's a lousy idea. :woot:

If the show keeps going, they'll find smaller tattoos that they missed earlier. And then they'll realize that groups of tattoos form patterns. And new tattoos will mysteriously appear, creating an all new direction for the show. Who's giving her the new tattoos. And WHY???

Maybe that's why Blackout seized Sif at the end of the last episode, so that he can tattoo more designs onto her body for next week. She'll soon run out of free spots. And is the waitress really going to photograph them if they're in very intimate areas? Although I suppose she must.

I do see the similarities, but I dropped The Blacklist after the pilot because I wasn't impressed, so it doesn't really matter to me.

they already noticed that the tattoos form patterns kinda
the first one they deciphered helped them solve the one this week. and while the one from the pilot happened on the same day, i'm fairly certain i recall them saying that with the Air Force Pilot they made him speed up his timetable because they caught it so early

Didn't expect the guy from Taylor's flashbacks to get dead so quickly, Jaimie Alexander continues to be the Blindspot's bright spot, the lead guy just grunts his lines.

still likin' it, especially with this new twist and revelation...

So what's the overall consensus on this so far then? Worth watching apart from the block of wood Jamie Alexander acts opposite of or no?

Yeah, he had a blackout too quickly, leaving them to sif through all these tattoos on their own. :o

When she was nude in Times Square, someone should've asked if she needed a tailor. :o

And the mysterious villain at the end is the police chief from The Mentalist, who was one of the Red John suspects.

So far I'd say it's limping along, it's visually dull and cold and for me none of the characters bar Jaimie's has really caught my interest.

Dude! :funny:

Yeah he seems to specialize in shady government types.

I'm sure he'll get better as the series progresses, touch wood. :o

I thought the last episode was actually pretty decent. It had some legit mystery. Though outside of Jaimie (two "i"s Snow) and Ashley Johnson, there isn't really many characters to cling to. I actually thought Not Leonidas actually showed some emotion last episode and I was actually a bit intrigued. His protective nature is starting to grow on me.

Jaimie's action on the show is pretty great. If nothing else, it has the action, at least when she is on.

Thanks for the answer. :yay:

First Keira, now Jaimie, I think we've established I can't spell the names of any of your crushes. :o

Guess I'll probably check back after the midseason to see if it's improved to something worth watching. Thanks for the answers. :yay:

So what's the next course of action for them now? Does Weller take Taylor Sif home to meet his sister, since she seemed to know her too? And does he try to exonerate his father for Taylor's murder, since she is now clearly alive? Or do they not want to expose her identity just yet? But if so, that means letting Weller's father rot in prison longer than necessary.

And does Weller take Taylor to his old neighbourhood to see if she remembers anything?

Also, the Waitress must soon catch wind of the fact that the redacted file she gave to her boss doesn't seem to have been looked at properly or just dismissed. How come her life isn't in danger too since she's digging around with the tattoos and other confidential files?

My gut says that they wont reveal her identity just yet at least not to everyone..

Love the Taylor Sif nickname :hehe:

LOL Taylor Sif. That's great. :D

In regards to the Blindspot/Blacklist comparisons... I don't know; people seriously think Megan Boone is good? She always just seems to have that resting b**ch/half-asleep face in every scene she's in. She's nice to look at, but that's about all I can say for her. General Swanwick is pretty much just a more boring version of General Swanwick. Former Homeland Guy Who Was Also In Pacific Rim For Five Minutes is just awful. He just comes off like a moron whenever he opens his mouth, though maybe that's intentional, I don't know. I'll give you that Ryan Eggold got better with time as more was revealed about his character; he was one of the other highlights of the show in addition to Spader.

Anyway, in regards to this show... I do agree that Stapleton is kinda just doing the grunty stoic action hero thing a bit too much here. He's capable of being better though; I was hoping that his character would be more like his Strike Back character. I'm not saying the guy should always play the same role, but Damien Scott is charismatic as hell and so much more fun to watch than Kurt Weller. Maybe they'll lighten him up a bit as the show goes on though.

his dad isn't in jail. he was just accused. remember his sister said their dad was going to the memorial and Weller didn't think he should because of the accusations.

Weller has a sister, nephew and a Dad. Taylor Shaw was his neighbor who went missing 25 years ago. i feel like this is going to have to do with Weller's Dad or her parents.
