Jason Bourne

Looking more and more like the whole thing was based on a lie.

Oh great. Parental drama. Can't spy movie storytellers come up with something different?

So Julia Stiles is totally getting shoved aside for new It Girl Alicia Vikander

Poor Julia Styles. And it's not like she's old or anything.

I'm hoping that it's just marketing, and also it seems like Vikander is playing a more overt "action" type of role anyway, and that they're not going to fridge Julia Stiles just to set her up.

Again attention Damon and Greengrass, you can have more than one prominent/important female character in your film at the same time (especially since they seem to occupy very different roles). Heck you kind of got this with Ultimatum where Stiles and Joan Allen were both important, so don't screw it up now.

it is an international poster and Vikander is probably a bigger star internationally than she is in The U.S.

I'm kind of sad that she hasn't become a bigger star than she has, because she's a really good actress. I mean she's had a solid career, but she's hardly a big name right.

I don't know why. I really don't. Now she's regulated to a supporting actress when she's in a fairly big movie. Like in Silver Linigns Playbook (which was good casting, with her playing J-Law's older sister. They do look alike.)

Matt Damon Pranks People with Surprise Bourne Spy Mission

:lmao:

Bourne learning about his father or even Nikki going away are not deal breakers for me. Some of this emotion I'm seeing over Nikki is in fact quite over-exaggerated to me. I never had much of a connection to that character. It's not like Bourne was in love with her.

The impression I got with that character was that Bourne likely had a sexual relationship with as she was his handler in between his kill missions. However, for her it probably got too real and serious.

Why are people getting emotional over Nicky? She's in the movie in a side role like she always has been.

We've explained why repeatedly, including like a page of two ago. So if some people STILL don't get it, or are just choosing to be obtuse, then there's really no point in reiterating it yet again.

Not everyone stays in this thread all the time. This is the first Im hearing of any Nicky controversy.

Edit: Is it because Vikander is in the marketing? If so, who gives a ****? She's the new co-star, a new character played by an oscar winner. Its logical they'd put her on a poster and in the trailer. Stop being drama queens.

The annoyance comes from what appears to be them [blackout]fridging Nicky in a very similar way they did Marie.[/blackout] No one's being dramatic.

Considering the life that Nicky is engaged in and the people she is around sudden and unexpected death is a high probability for her. Frankly I was amazed they let her character live all the way through the first three films.

And if they are going to kill a character it makes sense that Nicky should be the one to die. She's been in the series since film one, is the only character besides Bourne to appear in all 3 films, and she has an established history with Bourne. Her death would actually mean something to Bourne and the audience. Her death would carry some weight. Killing one of the new characters wouldnt have as much emotional impact.

Makes sense to me.
