Justice League Jason Momoa is Arthur Curry/Aquaman - Part 1

Mmm...I think a certain someone's about to take a trip to that pub.

Me upon arriving:

Jason sure looks fun and all, but after looking at Aquaman (New 52) comics, I am a bit disappointed in the casting decision.

Jason doesn't seem to give any regal or king-like vibes like the Aquaman does in the New 52. I mean, holy ****, he looks like a superior version of Bruce Wayne, not kidding! Anyway, just wanted to convey my thoughts on this, which I had for a long time. I am sure I am going to love Jason's personality in the film, just can't help but wonder how it'd have been if they went according to the source material.

I can only speak for myself here but I'd definitely follow his orders

I think they should change his beard style to exactly the way it is in the above gif and that'd do it. It'd be even better if they keep his hair pure black without any blonde shades.

I want him to give a tough competition to Bruce Wayne, because it'd be hilarious to see Bruce Wayne lose it for the first time, so naturally, I really want him to look very handsome and king-like like in the above gif. I hope they do it.

Is Arthur the King of Atlantis during JL tho?? IIRC, they're going with a reluctant but soon to be king approach with Jason.

Plus he hates Atlanteans. He probably doesn't give a rat's furry a$$ about being a king for the folks he hates with a passion. He's all about being a good bro.

Yeah, me too. As of him not giving a regal vibe... well, he is not king yet in DCEU. Besides, I always liked the idea of Arthur being pretty down-to-earth, working class kind of guy before he was thrust into Atlantean politics and role of a king.

Matter of fact, I'd argue that is pretty much the case with New 52/Rebirth version.

In Fandango polls, it’s Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa aka Aquaman that moviegoers want to see in the Nov. 17 release. Eighty-six percent are excited to see Wonder Woman again in the film and 89% identify themselves as DC fans per Fandango.

I'm a big fan of the Bats, but even then Aquaman is one of the biggest excitement factors of this movie for me. IMO, Jason Momoa certainly has the best figure of the males in the team - sorry Cavil and Affleck. And with his carefree rocker-style personality, I can just imagine him becoming every lady's (and man's) favorite character. That being said though, he wasn't a core member of the JL in the animated series for the reason of being a king. But that didn't keep him away entirely though, it might likely just be a little less shared screen time.

I get what you mean but the guy is a huge draw for the audience. WB would certainly first focus on that and not the logic of Aquaman not being able to help cause he has his own duties
