Really? Kimmel made it sound like a done deal. He said it twice before I went to bed. Once at the very end of his monologue (where they announce the guests) and once more as they came back from break, right before the Tyson interview.

I guess Momoa is under some type of non-disclosure agreement so WB can officially announce it later. I know next to nothing about show business and their contracts, but does it seem odd that the actor still can't acknowledge the role even though everyone and their brother already knows?

He probably hasn't been released from his NDA. It probably won't happen until there is a press release from the WB or when they are ready to shoot his scenes (i.e. when it is obvious that we will know that he is Aquaman). I think there is enough circumstantial evidence to conclude that Momoa will be playing Aquaman.

Why are people acting like it's a huge stretch for water manipulation to be part of his character?!

It happened in the comics when he was given the water bearer hand form the Lady of the Lake! He could manipulate the bursts of water and control the temperatures..

It may not be part of his original power abilities, but it did happen.

I didn't say it would. I've often thought it would be a good idea to link the Atlanteans to the Amazons on film and have Arthur's trident be the trident of the founder of Atlantis, Poseiden (rather than Neptune, who is the god of Atlantis). Imbued within the trident would be the power to control water (an often overlooked/forgotten power of the trident).

But as for Arthur's mystical hand, it didn't grant him power over any water, just the water contained within the hand. It was like a water version of a green lantern ring.

Just do what I do: stay focused on costume reveal/set pics, and nothing else. Once you've had your fill of that, then you can go back and check on your unfinished downloads, which will most likely be done.

It's not part of the actual character.

Actually, it still is part of the Aquaman mythos and it cand be considered source material that can be used for any future works.
