Transformers Jazz shorter than Bumblebee??? Height confirmations:

I think they made Jazz the smallest, because, the best car they could get to suit him, just happens to be a very small car.

(Not against Orko, just putting this out there) And I am certain they had to go with the Solstice, because all of the Autobots are GM products. Show me another GM car that is more exotic.

Solstice doesn't look exotic to me at all. It looks like a every other roadster in the past 20 years. In fact it looks just like a Miata or an MR2.

Ok, now go through the GM product line, you can find it at www.gm.com and find the most exotic looking car they produce. And I myself think the lines of the Solstice more closely resemble the BMW Z4.

Why does every thread like this have to turn into people bashing the movie? If you dont like it, fine. But you dont need to make post after post bashing Bay and everyone else in this movie.

Give the movie and every included a frickin' chance!

I don't see why all of the Autobots have to be GM cars. There should be some diversity.

Perhaps in a perfect world... or a more artistically inclined director's hands.

They got paid $$$ to feature GM cars.

The Corvette.
Jazz should be the Corvette.
... or was someone else assigned the Corvette?

In any case, he shouldn't be "the littlelest robot."

But if he was the Corvette, people would still complain.
Fanboy, "But Tracks was the Corvette!! What were they thinking!!!"

guys this film is TF's in name only.
only prime has his look [minus longnose and flames] and true character personality in tact.
everyone else. well....they may as well of made up the names as well.
barricade and blackout are made up, the rest of em minus prime dont resemble their namesakes and their personlities have no depth [minus prime] either.
its all about the humans.
our TF's are simply action fodder.
they couldve named them anything. but calling them their g1 names and having them not resemble it will obviously and understandably piss off the fans.
piss off the fans and u get a bad word of mouth and negative press which leads to a poor showing at the box office.

this film is looking like the "masters of the universe" .
a live action film based on a hugely popular 80's toyline/cartoon/comics that makes up characters, makes the others INO. and bastardises the original concept in the name of hollywood.
sound horribly similar doesnt it.

Barricade and Blackout are not made up, just check tfu.info and you'll find them. And as for "Masters of the Universe" that was honestly doomed from the second the cast Dolph Lundgren. But it will be cool to see what John Woo does with that series. I seem to remember reading something about him wanting to do it.

You keep telling yourself that.

From everything I've seen here and in other boards even the complainers have been extremely open-minded about "alternatives" (like BB being a Mini Cooper)....

I for one just wanted faithful adaptations... which means BB ain't a hot-rod (A Mini is fine... a Solstice, which is a 4-cyl, is fine too) and Jazz sure as heck ain't a midget! Come on now!

okay. well i have never heard of them and i own every G1 cartoon on DVD.
i must assume them they are from other, later incarnations.
well. if they are not made up.
my question is... do they at any level resemble their original counterparts?
if not, well, like everyone bar optimus prime, they may as well of been made up.

I'm not going to invest much though into these scale references. Optimus Prime, for example, has been mentioned as being 40-50ft. tall, 32ft., and now 28ft. according to Bay. Jazz being shorter than Bumblebee also strikes me as odd, since Bumblebee was confirmned as still being the underdog and there being Autobot shorter than him misses the point. I also read somewhere that Jazz was going to be tall and lanky, which suggest the telescoping of parts given the size of the Solstice.

I could be wrong but, I thought Ironhide and Ratchet were consistently portrayed as having the same height in the cartoon.

Certianly you don't need someone else to look at the website for you.

I had never heard of them either. Were they both from the Transformers:Energon series. I guess that's all fine and dandy. But are their alt-modes in the movie faithful... or completely made up too?

Maybe you're right about Dolph... but it was almost saved when they cast Frank Langella as Skeletor. He almost saved that movie. But, in the end, the movie sucked- period. Why? Well, for the same reasons Bay seems to be destroying this movie.

Masters of the Universe Movie had more in common with New Gods than Masters. And this movie has a bunch of insane and needless "reimaginations" as well.

We all can agree that Masters of the Universe sucked. But, the casting of Dolph as He-Man is not the main reason the movie failed. The moive was produced buy Cannon films. That company had a notorious reputation for making low budget films before they filed for bankruptcy. Take a wild guess at which studio produced Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Cyborg.

It's funny how these threads get soooo off topic.

OK. As for why they didn't make Bumblebee the Solstice, Spike can't afford the damn thing!! He buys Bumblebee (in beat up '70s Camaro mode) for $4000!! Can anyone name another car in GM's line-up that has, not only, an older version that a 16 year-old boy with $4000 would buy, but also a sweet new design that a 16 year-old boy would love to have. Now, since GM provided all the other vehicles for the Autobots, the Solstice in the only likely choice for Jazz, well either that or a Corvette or Cadillac XLR. Remember, Jazz was a Porsche, quite exotic, and the Solstice is deffinatly the most exotic looking car in GM's product line.

A Solstice is cheaper than the new Camaro, so that can't be the reason.

It wouldn't have been cheaper than an old busted up Camaro...that was his point.

yes it is dj but he buys a 1970ish camero not the new one

Thanks for having my back there guys.

I'm confused. Why are all on set pics of Bumblebee shown as the new Camaro if Spike bought him as an old beat up one?
