The Wolverine Jean Grey in The Wolverine

another Wolverine movie with different periods and another x-men cameo?

:whatever:

Why the negativity? We knew about several time periods ages ago.

Look people let's be postive.we have heard about one cameo.Famke Janssen. This Is far from the X-Men origins:Wolverine disaster.

We will have a WWII opening and then cut to peroid with breaded wolverine In canada that likely leads us to Japan.

Except for WwII opening the rest of film likely takes place post X-Men/X2 or X-Men trilogy.I hate to remind people but the original Wolverine miniseries the film Is based on didn't take place before wolverine joined the X-Men.It even has a X-Men cameo of them learning about wolverine's engagement to Mariko.

Famke Janssen Is eather going to be In a dream or hallunication when Wolverine Is seriously Injured or In last scene of film In a Days of future past setup.I am more inclined to believe a DOFP setup although I thought Lien Neeson In DKR would be In flashback with Marion Cotillard and not a hallunication.

What if the film takes place during the time when Jean is still alive? Perhaps she (and maybe other X-men) feature, at least partly, in this story?

There was no indication between Wolverine's arrival in X1 and Jean's death in X3 that Wolverine had at some point gone to Japan. Logic says the main part of the story must take place before X1 or after X3.

just to add some random speculation...
what if their tying this movie in with DOFP an it's set in the alternate timeline

Yeah, I dunno about that. Those movies don't exactly pick off right where the previous one finished. He could have gone anywhere. Unless there's something that happens in the story that just couldn't be ignored or explained away easily without it looking weird that it's not referenced in those movies then I think it's fair to speculate about the possibility.

Whoa. Maybe! Or maybe at the end of the movie the timeline alters. Also I don't think there's any time for Wolverine to have gone to Japan in between X1 and X2. He pretty much took Cyclops' bike and drove it to Alkali Lake...

Maybe I'll have to re-watch X1 & X2. I haven't seen them in a while, I had thought more time had passed between movies.

X2 happens one year after X1. Singer & Dougherty say it during one of the X2 commentaries.

I'm pretty much convinced this film takes place after X3. Logan did say he was going "home" to the bartender in the deleted ending for X3.

Personally, I hope Famke's role is that of a dream he has. Nothing more.

So are they gonna cgi her up to look younger or just do the Fox thing and not care and think throwing characters in will make the film better.

Totally getting Origin crap vibes again.

^ younger you act like she was in her 20's in original trilogy she was always an older woman famke was 35 in x1 and 41 in x men 3

and overreact much? yes adding 1 character from original trilogy that can even possible help bridge to DOFP is the same as adding gambit, cyclops, emma frost and deadpool like origins

Or the fact this was touted as a stand alone film.
Throwing cameos in doesn't do that.

I was hoping for just a Wolverine story with no ties to the rest of the messed up Fox universe.

Famke looks exactly the same as she did in X2/3... and better than she did in X1 (which is where she looked the worst. What a rude thing to say... No one suggests CGIing Jackman's face. :whatever:

I think she may tie into DOFP...in a post credit scene. That would be the best option I think. It would keep the movie stand alone and just hint at the epic film to come.

Ive never been a Wolverine fan.

I HATE that he was the star of all three original trilogy movies, and I dont like how some x-men are appearing in his movies, creating conflicts with continuity and possible plans for First Class sequels. (Emma, young Cyclops and Gambit).

Im ALL for x-men movies, but not x-men cameos on Wolverine franchise.

I liked XO: Wolverine, it was entertaining. but This is how I feel about this kind of decisions by Fox.

That's a little silly considering everything we now know about how the universe is being treated by Fox, Millar, Vaughn, and everyone else involved...

Famke has to be the liaison with Days of Future Past. The idea is cool,Famke is beautiful. It's so great..

Exactly! I don't see any reason to CG Famke.

Jean Grey will eather be In dream or hallunication of Wolverine or be In very last scene of film as lead In to days of future past. And If Famke Janssen Isn't In dream or hallunication that Is sign the Last Stand Is very thrown out. It's very doudtful this film takes place before X-Men anymore.

Wolverine solo films are not a seperate franchise. They are part of X-men series.Seriously have people not gotten the memo the X-Men and fantastic four are going to be treated as shared universe.First Class,X-Men,and wolverine are not 3 different series.Famke looks very good for a woman who In November turns 47.

Could this just be them filming together for something for the next XMen film?!

Its probably not gonna create any problems. Those memory rumors are just sites trying to come up with reasons why she would be in the film without thinking that it could take place after the X Men Films. If it was pre X Men and both her a Logan met then yeah, that would be lame. Fox cant afford to pull **** like XMOW did again.

Shes seems like a specific choice though, Im sure theres an important reason for her. Killing her would def have an effect on Logan and be in continuity. He may be trying to let go and move past that. And we dont know whats up with DOFP quite yet like others mentioned. So it could be that as well.

 Wouldn't getting a crap Origins vibe mean distractingly bad digital de-aging?

I hope not.

Frankly, I think its unnecessary.

This was supposed to be a one-off that finally does Wolverine justice.

A bombardment of other mutants will only detract from the aforementioned sentiment.

Jean Grey, Viper, the mutant in the well...

I have faith in FOX, but at the moment I'm having doubts.
