Jeremy Renner in talks to play Hawkeye!

I was actually surprised to see Renner in the film. I knew there was supposed to be some in-movie easter egg of someone with a bow and arrow meant to be seen as Hawkeye, but I didn't know Renner would actually be onscreen and everything.

I just hope they give him a proper costume for The Avengers. It's only proper if he's gonna be on a superhero team, plus Renner seemed to be playing Clint's comedic side up in his short cameo in Thor, so I could imagine his finding out he's gotta wear a costume would be a really funny scene.

Jeremy Renner totally owned his cameo scene. I can't wait to see the mask of Hawkeye in the Avengers. One thing I have to give to Marvel Studios is their attention to detail and their diligence to remain as faithful to the source material as possible. Even thought Clint wasn't wearing his mask in the scene he was wearing the purple suit and the compact bow was purple.

I just hope they give him a proper costume for The Avengers. It's only proper if he's gonna be on a superhero team, plus Renner seemed to be playing Clint's comedic side up in his short cameo in Thor, so I could imagine his finding out he's gotta wear a costume would be a really funny scene.

I wouldn't mind him wearing what he wore in Thor, but just make it a shade of purple. That and give him some kind of dark purple goggles or something similar that won't look too cheesy.

Renner's cameo was the right mix of awesome and effectiveness.

Thats all i needed, i would of been happy if they just let it be his arm reaching the bow, but how they played it out and played Barton as was a nice mix. He already seems to have the characteristics to fit along with the likes of a Stark and Thor.

why is that important? I'll never understand why fanboys expect the movie to remain faithful. It's a completely different art form. I'm just happy I get a good movie. I don't care if it doesn't match the books. Give me an enjoyable movie.

I still think that Jeremy was the wrong choice, I like the guy, but I just don't think that he is quite right for role of Hawkeye. The guy still looks too 'small' in size and too 'young' imo. It is weird considering how he is suppose to be almost 6 ft tall.

I thought he did a good job in Thor. The line about starting to root for Thor was pure Hawkeye.

...personally the part was too small to make any judgement yet if you ask me.
