I prefer Lex to be bald because it's his iconic look, but I don't want them to focus on his baldness or try to explain it. Just have him be bald.

And it wouldn't be the end of the world if he had hair.

Lex's assistant: "Well you see, Lex Luthor is bald because he suffers from alopecia areata. Which is a condition in which hair loss happens."

:hehe: Typical Nolan Exposition.

Yeah, I see no reason for them to explain his baldness should they make him bald, some people just like how they look with a shaved head, or just go bald, it's not like something horrible and life changing has to happen for a person to be bald. The only explanation they'd need for him being bald is that he's Lex Luthor, and therefore bald.

I agree, not the end of the world if he isn't bald, Shea's my favorite live action Lex so far and he didn't shave his noggin for the part.

I don't doubt that he'll be bald for the film...what remains to be seen is if he is bald or becomes bald because of an accident

If they go the accident route I'd rather see him with his normal hair for most if not all of the movie. Then when he loses it it'll be another thing he blames Superman for. Lex with long hair isn't really a deviation from the comics either

to those complaining he is "small" well Mark Twight can train him and Lex Luthor in the movie might be wearing an armor suit. remember the armor General Zod left and that huge kryptonian ship that crashed?

anyway I also did not expect his casting, let's wait for the actual movie and this all might make sense.

Theres no need to explain why a 30 something has a bald head. Some guys start to lose their hair at an even younger age, and choose to shave it all off. Its not something that needs a scientific explanation.

But what if he had THIS hair

I hope they avoid Lex using an armored supersuit in the DCCU as a whole. If they want a physical battle there are villains much better suited for it.

Why is him being small a problem?
He's not supposed to look like he would be a match for superman physically.
None of the previous live action Lex's have been musclebound,so why is it a problem for Eisenberg?

This. Lex is a psychological villain. He doesn't even need to be muscular. He just needs to look decent in a business suit.

Jesus, people are fast with the art.

Because he's the new guy.

I expect him to have this hair, designer glasses (swapped out with contacts), and a 3-piece suit.

That'll be his Lex.

Lex as a shaved head bald guy.

"The average human male spends around 20 minutes of their day making sure their hair is combed, styled, cut right or parted properly. I decided to remove the need to waste that time and instead use it on more fruitful endeavours."

Gestures to his skyscraper.

This recent news and reaction reminds me of when they cast that old frail man as this guy

And people were focusing on the the lack of hamstrings and voice instead of the important things. Same for Logan, that goes double for Roarsach. Ian could never be that guy in the picture but rather, something new, interesting and addictive to the mythology. A new magneto. I for one think a new lex is just what the brand needs.

I still wish Magneto looked like this in the movies. :o

Man, I'm not at all a Superman fan (I honestly don't even think I've read a Superman comic...) but that quote right there made me want him to be bald all of a sudden. Before I wanted him to keep his hair as to vary things up, seeing as how this is clearly a unique take on the character (same with Batman, and probably Wonder Woman) but thats just such a good character developer. Ha, who knew a hairstyle could mean so much for not only a characters look, but their personality...

I am not really happy with this particular casting decision... I mean Snyder took a quite some time deciding actor who would be Lex Luthor, and then he comes up with...Jesse Eisenberg ?

One of the reasons could be that this particular version of Lex is lot younger with a sinister edge, at first glance he seems harmless, trustworthy, not intimidating (physically) but he is a scheming, double crossing, selfish person.

Wow, I don't know if Eisenberg could ever get to looking like that, but its immediately the perfect lex Luthor for me.

I kind of do hope that he gets a bit of vocal coaching just to lower his vocal range a bit to be a bit more intimidating, but he definitely has the intellectually domineering sensibility down.

So I've ben out all day just got home, anything new? Actually never mind. Still most people crying and feeling like they've been betrayed? I just figured that's how it still is.
