It's not related to JLA at all.

I guess I am not typing english here. Let me spell it out as clear as I can. It relates to JLA as Welling is the person that the WB wants to play Superman in the JLA movie. The thing that was holding it up was his commitments due to Smallville. Due to the strike, Smallvilles shooting season has been cut short. Many people have been saying that we were going to get an announcement of a cast in Nov., but then when the WB realized that the WGA strike will go on a long time, they also realized that it would cut Smallville's shooting schedule and that the end they could shoot would be the last minute time they have to cast Welling as Supes. So I posting this as it shows that Welling will be a free agent as of the 23rd of this month, and the WB has a very lucrative offer set up for him to play Supes in JLA should he accept it. So, him being signed is the hold up to an official JLA greenlight and casting announcement, and we could be hearing within a week or two his being sighned and the cast release. That is how it applies to JLA. I hope this has spelled it out as simply as possible as to how this relates to the JLA casting as this could mean that Welling will be CAST in JLA. Get it?

yea i know they want welling for supes for jla but that bit of news was more about production ending on episode 15 for the show on the 23rd so it should be over in smallville area.

Ahhh no. It is directly related to the JLA casting thread as he is the one the WB wants to cast as Supes, and he may be cast now that he is free as of next week, and that would mean the whole cast will be announced in a week or two if he is cast. That is how it is relative here. I swear it is like I am not typing in English here.

Routh also had a half decent resume of work behind him before he donned the blue tights. Compared to Gale, he's a veteran.

So we may here something soon. This is the last stumbling block to get Welling to sign, and a lot of people predicting that this is why no official Justice League casting news. They want to announce the cast all at once, and Cotrona is their number 2 guy. There is supposedly a very lucrative deal for Welling on the table, as well as a few other different roles in different types of films following justice league to ease his fears of typecasting. He would have been cast earlier but Gough and Miller got involved and put a stop to it, and now that stop has been removed. Apparrantly Gough and Miller fell out of favor with the WB over it.

It might matter to those of us in the fan community what she has done previously. But her past is irrelevant in the big picture. What is important is how she did in her auditions/screne test, her take on the character, and the chemistry she has with her co-stars. Since we have no way of knowing that at this point, we're left to judge her on what she's done previously, which ultimately means very little.

Have no fear... Since the whole project will be a disaster (if it actually sees the light of day), it's unfair to mark out Welling as the only vomit-inducing element.

MSN threw Welling's name into rumorville last February when the Mulrooneys were announced as writing the JL script. Sanchez went on TV and said Welling was this -><- close to having the role. SV producer Al Gough denied the rumor because Welling was attached to SV. You know, that show that's ending production in [checks watch] about two weeks? DC Comics' VP of Creative Affairs Greg Noveck also denied the rumor, but that was ALL before the strike.

Rumors are Rumors. Like it or not, the original Welling rumors may have been shot down, but they certainly never died.

Unless you have proof that Welling is not now/never was under consideration, this rumor is a relevant as any other.

Until an official cast list is released it's anyone's guess.
