Enough cock talk, yes, some members of the cast are in Australia, I wasn't able to get any solid news on JLA tonight with the exception of the triple confirmation that every circle in Hollywood knows that he has been cast as Bats and not a villain. So I am hearing that the two casting issues have been Supes and Wonder Woman.

I will be in LA all next week, before I forget, totally off subject, if anyone here is based in the Sacramento/Davis area let me know since we are hosting an early screening of Cloverfield on the 17th.

We will have some solid news on Wolverine come Monday, as Devin reported today, Liev is Sabretooth but the two other names that he mentioned are not close to being accurate.

Little info, while Miller maybe capable of writing some of the changes that are needed, everyone if afraid of pissing of the WGA. I was told that some people believe that it may be possible that this strike will be over within 30 days now that TWC and UA have made deals with the writers, fingers crossed.

Keep an eye on the front page or on your RSS feeds, first couple days of next week will have big updates on Joe, Wolverine and hopefully I get the green light to talk more openly about JLA and tidbits on The Man of Steel.

I guess this is somewhat good news. I haven't been pleased with any of the Superman or WW candidates. If they can't find some suitable replacements for the horrid choices we've heard, this film does not deserve to go forward.

So perfect that she's not even a legit, regular actress? She's a model and awards show host, slash actress. And IMO, her face isn't even that great compared to lots of celebrities.

Would you consider it "perfect" casting if some male model with one or two bit parts in his filmography were cast as Batman or Superman?

She's been in two pictures and she's prettier than America Ferrera, or Jessica Biel in my opinion. I think they are going with her partly because she is Aussie, which helps meet the requirement for classifying JL as an Australian film, and she has the physical characteristics that match those of Wonder Woman closer than a lot of the women we have suggested.

Dont know if this has been posted, but on EmiJayne's blog she got confirmation from someone up in Canada that Smallville shuts down due to the strike in a week and a half:

So I may have been off target by 5 days, or it may just be cleaning up after Jan 18th, but Smallville ends production on Jan 23rd.

"There are just two live-action TV series still shooting here, and they are down to their final scripts. Men in Trees is scheduled to wrap on Tuesday and Smallville is slated to shut down Jan. 23. Both were originally supposed to shoot until mid-April."

The big question remains...Will Tom Welling suit up or go home for a long vacation??

So we may here something soon. This is the last stumbling block to get Welling to sign, and a lot of people predicting that this is why no official Justice League casting news. They want to announce the cast all at once, and Cotrona is their number 2 guy. There is supposedly a very lucrative deal for Welling on the table, as well as a few other different roles in different types of films following justice league to ease his fears of typecasting. He would have been cast earlier but Gough and Miller got involved and put a stop to it, and now that stop has been removed. Apparrantly Gough and Miller fell out of favor with the WB over it.

It is related to JLA becuse Welling is the WB's wish for Superman in the movie. The thing keeping him from being in it was his Smallville commitment, which is now almost done due to the strike, and some in the know prediciting the only hold up to a JLA full greenlight and cast release. That is why it is appropriate for here. So I posted it in this thread as if he is their guy, and he does sighn to play Supes in JLA, we will hear a cast release soon.

yea i know they want welling for supes for jla but that bit of news was more about production ending on episode 15 for the show on the 23rd so it should be over in smallville area.
