In depth article on Armie Hammer's movie "Billy: The Early Years", scheduled for release on Oct. 15, can be found at the link below. Only a brief mention of JL was made.

For a movie that's in production they have a pretty open set.:o

Nice pics btw.
Speaking of Superman....wonder what DJ Cotrona is up to? Most of the JLA cast members have been keeping themselves busy since the movie stalled.

was he ever officially announced? i dont recall any solid sources with his name on it

For small movies like this, the more free press the better, I guess. Lots of pics from the set at that link.

Another article has director Robby Benson saying this about Hammer.

http://www.christianitytoday.com/movies/news/makingofanevangelist.html
"I feel like I'm watching the beginning of a major movie star's career," Benson said. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like it in four decades of work. I've never seen anybody work as hard, I've never seen anyone absorb information as well, and to be honest, I've never seen the camera love someone as much as it does Mr. Armie Hammer. He's just absolutely brilliant."

In other news, Teresa Palmer appeared at the premiere of Sandler's "You Don't Mess Wth The Zohan" on Wednesday, May 28.

nice pics. I do hope we get a jla film soon in the next few yrs. Hopefully if they give it another go they find the right script, the right cast, and treat it faithfully and stick close to source material.

Hey, could Armie Hammer play Captain America? There's a sobering thought.... He's certainly young enough, and by the time shooting begins he'd be 25, so could he be Cap?

he could probably work but we should stick to talking about dc/jla character casting then marvel's film casting.

Would you guys be against Armie Hammer if he was cast as the role of Superman with someone else as Batman?

Well maybe if he had more acting experience and was a little bit older and the cast around him was correct then yea i would probably be into him in the film. But from miller's casting if whats his name superman it wouldnt have been a good combination.

Well I haven't heard anything from Jay Baruschel(sp?) or Santiago Cabrera either.

It was from the same sources that gave us Gale, Common, Palmer, etc
Hmm, she kind of looks like naomi watts.
I see it too.
Is this movie still being made?
-TNC
Last I checked the production was 'tabled'.
Not quite cancelled, but not quite at the top of WB's list of movies to make.

Based on looks? I think he's got it down. Based on acting? Meh. But like I've said before many times, they miscast Bats and Supes.

yea i was always fine with brody, common, and gale to an extent but dj and hammer were totally wrong for batman/superman even if you switched them around and all that. Hopefully if the film ever gets off the ground again they find the right cast, right crew/director and script, and move it in the right direction and treat it properly and faithfully to the source material.

I never was fine with Gale, and I'm still not which is why I'm happy the production was tabled.

Santiago Cabrera did say in an article that he was cast as Aquaman but the whole thing was in Spanish. It was posted somewhere on here, I just can't remember what page it was posted on. It seems that people who have seen Armie Hammer act say he is really good and could possibly become a big actor in the future. I guess will see when reviews of his Billy Graham movie comes out.

Well I haven't heard anything from Jay Baruschel(sp?) or Santiago Cabrera either.
Cabrera was at the Cannes Film Festival last week for the premiere of Steven Soderbergh's 'Che' biopic, in which he co-stars with Benicio Del Toro.

Here's a pic of co-stars Cabrera, Rodrigo Santoro, Del Toro and Demian Bichir.

Wha....?!? You want a gal who played Huntress in "Birds of Prey" tv show that also star BC play BC herself? That is just....uh strange. :wow:

Scott is a great actress. Did a fairly good job as an action hero as Huntress even if it looked like she phoned it most of the time.

The show gave her an awful character to work with. Giving the right material she'd make a great Black Canary.

NOT BATMAN!!!

He's a Booster Gold at best...

^ Same here. I couldn't believe how deep the dude's voice actually was. At the very least, he could pull that aspect off.
