Joe Wright to Helm 'Pan'

It's a wrap!

Hugh Jackman @RealHughJackman · 13h
That's a wrap for Blackbeard on #PAN. Thank you to the phenomenal cast & crew! You are all tops. @wbpictures @that'sawrap

So, when can I see Rooney Mara in her costume? :woot:

It wrapped already? That was a pretty fast shoot. I thought it would take longer.

I believe it started filming April (Jackman didn't join the cast until June) so that's about five months.

Looking forward to seeing how this movie will look.

Another one attached to the Hobbit, I'm assuming. Is that movie gonna have Jurassic World, SW7 and this? If so, I'm officially more excited for the trailers than the actual movie on that one.

Anyhoo, can't wait for this, the story kinda reminds me of Peter and the Starcatcher, a play which I loved, and I am a fan Wright and Jackman of course. I'm very interested in seeing what this will look like.

Hugh Jackman is indeed playing a villainous pirate in the upcoming Peter Pan origin story from Warner Bros., but here’s the hook: He’s not Hook. Pan (out July 17) takes the J.M. Barrie mythos and shuffles the deck, outfitting Jackman with a flying ship and a diabolical Vandyke as the dreaded pirate Blackbeard, whose men have been kidnapping young wartime orphans—including a certain Peter (Levi Miller, left)—from their beds. Meanwhile, Captain Hook is neither a captain nor behooked, but played by Garrett Hedlund as a dashing Indiana Jones-like figure. Says director Joe Wright, “This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”

So this is the prequel while Hook was the sequel.

WOW, that's an interesting look. He looks like a manlier version of Orlando Bloom's Duke of Buckingham in the recent Three Musketeers movie.

I can't re-state enough how happy I am that his hair is back to normal now. :oldrazz:

Hugh looks pretty strange. But the shot of the flying ship is very cool.

 I don't know what to think with Hugh look ...

What's so hard about making Blackbeard look like a menacing pirate with a full black beard? At least Pirates 4 did him pretty well.

Because as far as I can tell, the historical Blackbeard didn't have a flying ship, or tangle with Peter Pan. So 100% is not expected. Besides, they even gave him an evil mustache to twirl while he's chewing scenery.

Based on those images, I have the feeling that this movie will be...

panned.

I'm going with this being a younger version of Blackbeard. I know Jackman is already getting up there, but whatever.
