Yesh it's for Tiger Lily which is usual a thankless role anyway. Im kinda shocked that Rooney said yes to it; maybe it's due to Joe Wrght.

There's a big difference in casting Mara who can easily resemble a Native American and casting Jordan in a role where the character has always been white with blonde hair and blue eyes.

The film will be a new take on the classic story. It is set during World War II and follows an orphan named Peter who is kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverland, where he discovers he’s destined to save the land from the pirate Blackbeard.

The world being created is multi-racial/international – and a very different character than previously imagined.

The studio took on an exhaustive search in finding the right girl to play Lily looking at other actresses such as Lupita Nyonog’o and “Blue is the Warmest Color” thesp Adele Exarchopoulos before going out to Mara for the role.

WB dated the film for July 17, 2015, and sees it as a franchise that can appeal to the “Harry Potter” and “The Lord of the Rings” fanbase.

Peter Pan is a classic but it's not like LOTR or Harry Potter. If anything, it belongs to the tales of yore like Alice in Wonderland, etc.

If they wanted to make Pan into a franchise with buzz, they should've gotten the rights to Peter and the Starcatchrs.

I just don't quite get where they are going with this whole project. The casting of Peter will help I guess. If this is a prequel will the sequel then be the Peter Pan story we all know? Endless possibilities really and I don't mind changes to the source material at all when its something like this. I mean its Joe Wright!
