Oh and since when has the Hype ever been classy?
wait after summer. in one summer we get a Marvel Avengers movie and the final Batman DC movie .

no matter which movie wins............we lose

I thought I was going to see this today, but it's not looking like it will happen. Definitely going to catch it this week though.

Seems like most people who have voted on the poll here dig it. So that's good. :D

Whiskey Tango- Have you seen it yet? If so, what did you think about it?

the cost is only high for same reason superman returns was so high

failed attempts over the years before it finally got off the ground and the budget from other writers and directors over the years bumped the budget up

When someone has an axe to grind, I can't really take what they say at face value.

when i first saw this featurette i liked it a lot.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=C6qWWAbs-_8#!

now after i saw the movie i think this was the perfect promotion. this is what the movie is. a fun adventure disney movie. plus woola his alien dog was fantastic. there was not one stupid scene with woola.almost a perfect sidekick.

Your absolutely right with that clip, the promotion needed to be more like that, straight forward. That sums of what its about.

Was going to see it this afternoon but my friend had to watch his kids so we called it off. So we'll have to put it off until next weekend although I might say to hell with it and sneak a showing Tuesday or Wednesday night.

Reading Deadline's box office report, Nikki Finke really has it out for everyone involved in the film. Even her comments about the director's ego is interesting.

Haven't seen the film yet, interested to watch it though.
She obviously has it out for the film but that doesn't mean that her analysis is wrong. I kinda agree with just about every word she wrote. The director came off arrogant to me in interviews...I mean even for a director he came off as arrogant.

Wait I'm arguing with someone who hasn't even seen the damn movie yet? Well **** me on a tricycle and call me Sally that is ******ed to the max.

:whatever:
Yep, it's so insulting to call rabid fanboys, fanboys. *Southern accent* Fiddle sticks, what ever will we do with these rude gentlemen? The nerve of them to call me a fanboy! Why I'd be less insulted if the called me a harlot.*Southern accent*

Honestly.:whatever:

i didnt watch every interview with Stanton. the ones i did he didnt sound to arogant

but i do remember in one he said that he was a big fan and wanted to add as mucha as possible from the book. which is a big problem IMO because there are 3 races plus one bald Mark Stron. 2 villains and dear lord how much character story. he wrotte the movie as a fan IMO. he needs to learn how to cut stuff out that destroys the pacing. for example the last 10 minutes are good on paper IMO. he needs to come back. but dear was it long . it draged and IMO destroyed the movie's narative.

*grabs some popcorn and soda*
This thread has become highly entertaining. Almost as much as the film!

The good news is I'm not even angry anymore I'm just amazed. Amazed that I have been talking to a great defender who hasn't even seen the film and apparently does not want to read my 6.5/10 positive review. I mean that is just freakin mind blowing to me. I'm called a hater and I actually think that the movie is more okay than not but I'm called a hater for pointing out that it is currently failing at the box office. I'm a hater alright, a hater of sight-unseen fanboyism.

Saw this on Friday. I am glad to see that the bulk of the voting here seems to be in line with my own opinion. I thought this was a solid 8 out 10. The only knock I have against the film was the crappy 3D but since I didn't see it at an IMAX (the nearest one is too far away for me), I can't say how it was for any one else. I loved Woola, loved all the characters and of course my boy Taylor was more than fine in the lead role. I will definatly be buying this when it comes out, the BLu-Ray will look outstanding, I have no doubt.

No, you're called a hater for pointing this out over and over again in every post you make for days on end, just like the last time. One of these days hopefully you'll be able to grasp the concept of how ****ing annoying it is.

Maybe one of these days you will grasp what analysis of the box office is and the fact that some movies fail at the box office and when they are high profile I SEE SPIDEY likes talking about it. And maybe one day you will acknowledge my positive review of the film. So many things can happen one day.

Of course you can't acknowledge my review because that would kill your little fantasy that I have blinding hatred for this film.

whatever, you already apologized for this **** once and yet here you are doing the same song and dance again. Call it 'analysis' or spin it however you want, you're just looking for reactions, or else you wouldn't be on a loop.

No worries, my feelings don't get hurt on these boards :oldrazz: just found it interesting and thought I would share with the thread. I haven't seen much in regards to the director interviews so was just curious.

From what I have read he wanted to be faithful to the spirit of the book. I wouldn't really call that arrogance. You can't really fault someone for trying to be faithful.

It would be like calling marvel arrogant for sticking to their source material. I think that is unfair, but such is the movie business.

LOL you mean the 'positive' review where your list of complaints is twice as long as the list of elements you liked? The review that's barely above a 5/10? The review where you suggest everyone wait for the dvd?

Positively glowing.

It's fine if you didn't like it, I don't care. I don't even care if you thought it was half assed but stop acting like you're praising the thing because anyone who reads it can tell that's not the case. In fact it read like you had to try like hell to find something you liked about it.

"Whatever?" The best you can do is say "Whatever" like some teenage cheerleader and bring up that I apologized for something. This isn't the same thing kid and the sooner you and your buddy realize that they better off you will be.

I have seen the damn movie unlike you and we have real numbers thus I can talk about the film and the numbers. Unlike you because you can only talk about one of these things because as you admitted you haven't even seen the film.

Now that the movie is out we will talk about three things.

1. How we and others feel about the film

2. Box Office Earnings

3. How we feel about sequels

I see Spidey has every right to be here and talk about how horrid this movie is doing.

All I see you doing is trolling I See Spidey talking about the Box Office doing badly. Do you have some sort of personal vendetta I should know about? If you are going to interrupt the thread so hardcore I would like to know why.

If you want to read the same post over and over knock yourself out. Don't really see the mystique myself but everybody's gotta have a hobby.

Since when did positive have to mean glowing praise?

The fact someone can dislike so many things and still find it enjoyable enough is a good thing.

You're the one asking for the naysayers to keep their voices down and be seen but heard so you can enjoy yourself.

The romance stuff where he proposes and she accepts was terrible to me. She just got through almost being assassinated at a wedding she didn't want, and he's apparently over that blonde lady who he slaughtered a bunch of aliens while remembering(best scene in the movie).

I just hate how writers think sneaking glances and loving looks are equal to romantic character growth. The best on-screen romance like that was in Zorro.

You have all sorts of conspiracy theories don't you?

So I wrote that review and tried to find something to like just so I could come on these boards and bash it when it tanked at the box office? And apparently I wrote somewhere that my review was glowing even though I never wrote that? I call 6.5/10 and saying that the first part was fun and overall it was a cute Disney movie a positive review. Anything over a 6 is a more positive than not review. But of course in your mind I covertly gave it a 5 out of 10 and hate it with a red hot passion. Will the madness ever stop?

You have a good point but in general I don't have high standards for romances in these types of films because they are almost always half-assed like that.

thats why i try not to use numbers to rate a movie.on SHH 7/10 means that you didnt like a movie. for example i was not angry watching John Carter. i was entertained. but i know that in 6 months i will not like it.

i am also giving Disney 24 hours before i start complaining about proposal at the end. teh marriage came out of nowhere
