John Carter : A Princess of Mars - Part 4

If there was one person who deserved to survive John Carter unscathed it was definitely Collins so of course she didn't. Meanwhile black hole actors like Taylor Kitsch continue to get millions of chances. That's Hollywood for you.

She would have been a perfect Wonder Woman, a shame she hasn't been doing much lately. John Carter and Lone Ranger didn't realy fail due to the people behind those movies being bad at their work, just due to bad decisions.

She was my second choice for WW, but no studio would have come near her after this bomb. Damn shame. Taylor will get many more chances up to bat.

Also, she got married and had a baby.

Unless there's a retrospective love for the movie 10 years from now, nobody's talking about John Carter. There are is a following but it seems so small still…not even a cult following status (yet).

The only way John Carter will ever gain a cult following is if it becomes viewed as the 1980s Flash Gordon movie of our time.

I remember when the Cinema Snob & friends went to see it, Brad remarked that "It does kind of feel like a movie from the 80s that bombed."

Such is the nature of the business. She got to be a flavor of the month for a little while and landed some big roles.

Chris Evans was fading into obscurity after Fantastic Four 2 before he got a second chance with Captain America.

You made me realize how much I want Lynn to play Medusa. :woot:

Yeah, but it is always easier for men to get another shot.

I love Reynolds for Deadpool, but how many bombs does he have to his name? Let us be real.

Case in point, Reynolds is not getting big roles anymore. Look how long it took for Deadpool as his vehicle to get off the ground. And it's only getting a very low budget.

Uh, this is still a lead and a potential franchise.

Just like Fox were never going to allow Taylor Kitsch to lead their solo Gambit film, WB were never going to allow Collins to be Wonder Woman. Collins was never a realistic Woman Woman prospect after becoming Mrs. John Carter.

I agree that Deadpool might not have a huge budget but it is yet another chance for Ryan Reynolds to become the star of a franchise.

I'm 28. I've never walked out of movies. Never. This film was probably the only time that I was waiting, praying, for it to be over. Is not the worst movie ever (far from it) but it is most definitely the worst I've ever seen in a movie theater. All I kept thinking was "this entire thing looks so cool, WHY AM I SO DAMN BORED?". It was a real shame.

It's kinda dull and I don't know why I'm rooting for anyone.

So has it been confirmed that Vile One killed John Wick's dog?

Women are treated like **** in Hollywood. My cousin has told me stories. Men definitely get better treatment and more opportunities.

John Carter is one of the awesomest (modern) movies I've ever seen. I miss adventure movies like that...beats the crap out of those Pirates of the Crappybean movies (I don't exactly hate them, but they're overrated as hell. The first is good, the second okay...but the last two? I'd rather walk the plank). I have yet to meet a person (in real life) that didn't like it.

Same here. All my friends who saw it loved it. Unfortunately few of them saw it at the theater. Even my sister in law , who hates those sort of movies liked it.
