Action-Adventure John Wick: Chapter 4

Action movies and adventure films.
Its a LOT to take in so I am still processing much of what I saw, because there is SO much to see. The action is incredible, the fist act and final act are worth the price of admission alone but the best thing about it is it runtime allows the non-action parts to breathe and actually has some of the best "talking" scenes in the series, everyone gives great performances be their rolls small or big but Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada steal the show. I never expected to tear up in a John Wick movie but in this I did, there's more to it than just bodies and bullets flying which I was unprepared for.

Good luck following this one is all I will say to any action film, there's so much stuff here to enjoy.
I'm so ready!! I can already tell this is gonna blow my mind. Wick, to me, is one of the most iconic movie characters of the decade so I'm sure this will fully cement that in every way.

Thanks for that, even more hyped now!!

Really sounds like they’ve pulled it off and somehow improved the series.

They've added a lot in this episode/chapter so there is a lot more to chew on after the film as well, the lore gets deeper and there is stuff you can actually talk about the film once everyones gets to see it, instead of just "oh look cool action" of which there is plenty of that, dont get me wrong but there are more threads, themes and stories going on here than just John's who obviously the main focus but no the sole one. Its also probably the funniest of the series, there were two laugh out loud moments.

The look of it as well is astonishing, some scenes are literally works of art on film but on the big screen it just looks godly.

There were two actions scenes which just have to be seen to be be believed. I'm not going to spoil them here but words alone cant do them justice anyway, you just have to see it to believe how they got that what they did in camera.

the camera work here deserves awards alone, just so inventive and unique. Not since the Raid 2 has action been looked at in this way.

Boy I haven't been this excited to see a flick on the bigscreen since The Batman last year and everything I'm hearing about this movie makes it sound like something really special.

One thing I've always appreciated about this franchise at least with the last two is that the audience reactions are some of the best I've ever experienced, and I just love the atmosphere in that theatre.

In a little over an hour, I'll finally be seeing this bad boy for myself.

Seems like glowing comments across the board. Getting more and more confident I’m going to love this! Got a lot of films to choose from in March and I haven’t been able to get to the cinema at all yet, but looks like this is an absolute must-see.

Even if your not a John Wick fan but just an action fan in general, there's plenty to enjoy about this. Like 3 it has loads of inventive new ideas and set pieces. I just love the way it starts as a more Eastern style cinema action film and moves to a Western style, it pays homage to a lot of great action films of the past from both parts of the globe.

Well I am a John Wick fan as well as being a big action film fan so this is an easy win for me, especially given how the reception has been to this. I also particularly love it when films get imaginative with action and show us things we haven't seen before.

I am speechless at what I just witnessed. I think the action genre has changed forever. I don't usually like hyperbole these days, but you really gotta see this to believe it. The first 40 minutes alone left me completely shook.

The easiest 10/10 I've given a film in years

See I am glad to hear this because the first movie had plenty of emotion behind and is still the best one for me. Not seen 4 of course. But with 2 and 3 yeah they were cool to look at but they just felt like it was all robotic to me with no emotional hook like the first movie.

I couldn't really get into 2 or 3 for that reason. Hoping I will enjoy 4 and get back into the franchise again.

Yeah, I pretty much loved every minute of this, especially the last 30 minutes which was beyond EPIC. Easily the best finale in the franchise IMO in terms of direction, cinematography and fight choreography.

I honestly can't say if its my favorite of the movies so far, but I definitely think its the best paced because that 2-hour 45-minute running time pretty much flew by and I would have been fine with it being even longer.

Also, I really hope we see more of Donnie Yen's character in the future.

Wow dude haha. I thought JW4 would be really good, but it seems to have surpassed everyone’s expectations.

Great to see series like this and MI that push action boundaries as opposed to most which just execute whatever is in the screenplay without adding any X-factor.

At this point I definitely don't think there's a better modern action movie franchise out there that can give these movies a run for their money other than the MI franchise, but hopefully something else takes over soon.

Fast and Furious lost that edge a long time ago by going way to heavy with the CGI and I would say the same for most comic-book/superhero movies outside of rare exceptions like The Batman.

I have no idea how long this will last, but we need to enjoy while we still can.

I tried to keep mine in check but man it exceeded them. Also, the Osaka sequence in this movie will forever live in my head.

Donnie Yens Caine just oozes coolness and badassery. He's also a character you feel sympathy for. Every single character in this movie is amazing. Seriously, every character is incredibly memorable.

I don't really know if this movie will be topped in the action martial arts genre. We have Mission Impossible of course but those movies are different kinds of action flicks so I don't really like comparing those two. But both John Wick and Mission Impossible are the peak of action cinema. And while both are different types of action movies, they cement their styles so well. If Dead Reckoning Part 1 is as much of a masterpiece as John Wick Chapter 4 is, I think we will be eating GOOD!

JW & MI are the 2 franchises innovating action and aiming for the top and beyond rather than just putting out serviceable scenes like most others. They deserve to do well, and it’s not surprise they are led by 2 old school movie stars who are still passionate about this all.

Haha, Furious absolutely can’t compare now. CBMs also don’t seem to trying to break action boundaries and with the sudden surge in content just trying to get things done on time before the next project.

Rare to have a series that keeps improving with each installment, especially four movies in. Three hours just flew right by. Everyone gets an opportunity to shine and they really outdid themselves on the action sequences here.

Keanu Reeves never disappoints. :D

The Oska was awesome and a great introduction for a certain character as far as seeing what they could do, but man those final 30 minutes were really something special/memorable.

My whole theatre was pretty much erupting into cheers and laughter at seeing Keanu fight those dudes only to get knocked back down like 200 flights of steps lol.

Kudos to all the stunt guys in this movie, because that stuff looked painful asf.

that entire sequence was just insane. And then when him and Caine teamed up it was like "hell yeah!!"

Speaking of Caine, I'd totally be down for a spin off focusing on him and Akira. Some lady in the audience was pissed when it cut to black haha.

There's so much I want to say about this movie because there's A LOT. So much innovation and insane sequences. I'll be seeing it again on saturday!

Also I gotta give Scott Adkins props. He was phenomenal and that scene is one of my faves!

Right there with ya. :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

I currently can’t go to the movie theater, and I’m so frustrated I have to wait for probably three whole months till it comes out on digital and won’t be able to see this on the big screen like the rest of you guys.
