The new films need to set a new standard and be total opposites of anything gone before.
I disagree. I think the new movies should do new things, but not nessicarily be complete oppisites of the past films, especialy on the things they did right.

Well for me Crispin Glover has the creepy look...but I just don't like his voice for the part and when I look at him I just don't see the Joker in him. Lachy Hulme...I just have a feeling about him.

So I really don't think what roles actors have taken on in life should prevent them from doing other roles, unless of course they can't act,
Exactly! That's what I've been trying to tell everyone here for years!

If anyone was born to play the Joker, it has to be Adrian Brody. He needs to bulk up a bit, so he can be a physical challenge to Bale but otherwise, he has the acting ability and the face. This guy can challenge Bale's acting chops, as well. Glover is a loose cannon. I don't trust him and he's very one note. Adrian Brody is the way to go.

Hmmm Adrian Brody is a great choice. I really wanted him to play the role of The Scarecrow. But I am going to stick with Crispin Glover.

And I will take up that cause with you....

because look at Micheal Keaton when he first got the role of Batman people freaked out and said NO, not Mr. Mom, but he proved us all wrong, and now today people still refer to him as the greatest Batman of all time.

another example is Keenu Reeves he went from surfer dude to Neo to John Constantine.

Proving that acting is acting and any good or great actor can step up there game if they really want too

WOW! Green Goblin is Joker, many will be confused.

One other thing I don't know if you read that WB are looking for young Joker not old Joker. :) :batman:

P.S Don't get me wrong Willem Dafeo is great actor like I said he's too old.

I had never really been convinced that Glover could play the Joker until this image, he has the evil stare down to a tee!

how about seann william scott u know stiffler from the american pie movie he has the perfect face for the joker

I'd like to throw another name into the mix. He's a great Irish actor who's relatively unknown in the states: Liam Cunningham (A Little Princess).

Michael Wincott has a great look and physique but his voice just ruins it.

Have you ever heard him as Mr Sanjay(?) in Along came a Spider. He played a kidnapper disguised as an English teacher and his voice was unrecogniseable. He's been my personal fave to play The Joker for a while now and could more than likely give Bale a run for his money in a fight scene.

Nah haven't seen that movie. Every movie I have seen him in he sounds like he has throat cancer.

He also played Top Dollar in The Crow. But take into consideration Bale has an English accent and with the help of a voice coach, who knows?

I think that Bale does a convincing American accent, and what do you think about his performance in The Machinist?

I haven't seen it, but it looks interesting, and he lost all that weight for the role. Shows a lot of commitment from him.
