Daredevil Jon Bernthal IS Frank Castle / The Punisher! - Part 1

So if the give Punisher his own show, what stories should they cover?

Jigsaws origin, taking in the Gnucci family, and I really want to see a version of his post-civil-war story where he takes on white supremacists who are using Capyain Americas image.

Up is Down and Black is white is one of my favorite stories. It's really really dark though even for Netflix. Mother Russia too! Imagine having Nick Fury show up in it! lol

If they do the spinoff series, or even just a netflix movie, it will probably deal with the dangling thread left by the last few things Blacksmith said. It would involve whatever happened in Kandahar.

So what villains or supporting characters should appear a Punisher series? Jigsaw is an okay villain, but I really like the Punisher Max villains the best, Nicky Cavella and the slavers are delightfully evil scum bags that you can't wait to see Punisher see kill, with Jigsaw they always seem to come up with artificial reasons why Punisher will constantly spare him, that is why I don't care about Jigsaw.

Id really like that. Im very curious about what he was talking about.

I figured this was the lead in to a potential Punisher series. I thought it was a pretty far stretch that his old marine buddies would happen to be pulling a drug deal in the same park he was at, then basically start a gang war that got his family wiped out... and we never got any reason that frank's gunshot wound to the head was described as "execution style" if he was just caught in a crossfire.

Old school stuff? I have a soft spot for the Saracen myself.

I think that was the intention. They probably just wanted to see what folks thought of Bernthal in the role first, before announcing a series.

I'm hoping we get some news this summer, maybe at SDCC.

So they may be implying that Frank was involved in the drug deal himself?

I don't think that. The Blacksmith seemed to intimate to my mind that the threads of Frank's time in Afghanistan are what led to that. Some loose end from that time. If anything I am guessing that Frank witnessed or was aware of something during that time which involved his commanding officer but he kept it to himself out of a sense of loyalty which backfired because Brown's character had to tie up any possible threat to himself or his operation. My guess.

Perfection! Damn I want Castle and Daredevil in the MCU films so f'n bad, even if just cameos but this Punisher having a scene with Evan's CA and Daredevil having a scene with Spidey would be so awesome.

I'd prefer his square off with The Widow

Bernthal nailed it, but not sure how I feel about a series. I've always felt like the Punisher, as in the comics, is more fascinating as a guest player in the Marvel Universe. His comic series were always a little bit "meh."

Woohoo!! Hopefully he's in Defenders as well.
I've gotta say though that I agree with others that say Punisher works better as a side character than a lead, as we saw evidenced for the first time in DD. So hopefully this show turns out well.

Really happy with this. Hope they do put a few super powered people in there and don't do a straight up crime drama. Just remember it is part of the mcu. An inhuman henchman or something. DD and the other shows have done well down playing powers a bit but you are well aware that they exist.

I don't want to see the inhumans on this show of all shows. They're already getting boring on agents of shield. I don't mind super powered people but just not inhumans.

Hell yes.
The Punisher is a character I never cared about until Bernthals performance, and he's now one of my favorite characters in the MCU. So I'm super excited to hear were gonna get more of him. Congrats to Bernthal and everyone involved, this is well-deserved.

Finally! Been waiting for it to get announced.
Bernthral was amazing in the role and he deserves his own series.

Hell ****ing yeah

Bernthal is one of Marvels absolute best castings, no contest, so happy this is happening
