It seems to me that Jon Favreau has the best PR skills of any comicbook movie director, yet. He's always on point...whether it's about dispelling rumours, teasing the dedicated fans, or just hyping the film and letting people know they're going to be entertained. I'm really impressed with what he's done so far. I feel confident that Iron Man is in good hands. I certainly couldn't say that with any of the other Marvel movie directors. And even with other movies that I ended up liking, I still had problems with how the directors handled certain things, particularly the way they interacted with (or characterized) fans of the material. Thanks, Jon, for all your hard work and dedication! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this movie on opening night!

I'm with you, he certainly seems to be out in front keeping everyone updated.

He seems to have sensibilities of a fan and be able to wear the hat of director at the same time.

Yup, Jon's great. He keeps us up-to-date, but is coy enough to keep the major details secret.

He strikes me as a decent guy - and one that actually gives a crap about the fans.

He's pretty cool, worked on a lot of shows and he never comes across as an ass and always seems to work hard... but that has been said of other entertainers who ended up dead with multiple homocide charges still against them.

Jon's just the man period. Coming from an independent background, he's really got a balance between things and he's attitude during production and post-production is always pretty laid back or at least that's the way it appears during the documentaries on all of his movies.

Exactly. The man is my f***ing hero.

If you haven't, check out his show Dinner For Five. It was on IFC and the entire series is coming out on DVD. I'll be picking this one up -- believe me.

Imagine if he'd done this kind of PR for Swingers or Zathura! They'd have been super blockbusterss.

Yeah, Favs is cool. I've always liked the dude and found his dinner for 5 show really good.
