Why is that so hard to believe? We all know that fanboy desire for Venom influenced his inclusion in Spider-Man 3, so why is their influence on casting so unbelievable?

Arad cares not for fans' desires nor Venom as a character, but the money Venom can bring in. Do you think the desire for The Spot would have influenced his inclusion in SM3, I don't think so? There was a huge fan desire for The Lizard, what happened to that? Stop giving yourselves credit to things that you had no part in. Unfortunately, these films were only driven by money and not creative thinking, which is why we stand here in the light of a reboot.

You're giving fanboys way too much credit, aren't they crazy enough as it is. So basically you're saying with the calling of an internet campaign, you can get any actor you want in a comic book film? Bale happened because the director wanted him. It had nothing to do with fanboys and their battle cries for Bale.

It had a lot to do with fans. The fans made the studio take notice of Bale for the part. Did they GET him the part? No. He auditioned, did a great job, and the director wanted him. Did they get him the AUDITION? Yes.
